Pauba Valley Flight Plan
May 8, 2026
Dear Pilot Families,
We have officially entered the final stretch of the school year!
It’s tempting to start the vacation early, but the final weeks of school are some of the most meaningful. Here is why we need your student here every day until the final bell:
The Final Pieces of the Puzzle: In May, teachers aren't just "filling time." They are helping students connect everything they’ve learned all year into a complete picture. Missing these days is like missing the final chapter of a great book.
Celebration of Growth: From Field Days to end-of-year showcases, these weeks are filled with moments that honor your child’s hard work. We want every student here to experience the joy of their accomplishments with their peers.
A Smooth Transition: Consistent attendance in May helps students feel regulated and secure as they prepare to move up to the next grade level. It allows them to say "see you later" to friends and teachers properly, providing the emotional closure they need for a happy summer.
How to help your child cross the finish line:
Keep the Routine: Stick to your regular bedtime and morning habits. Consistency is the best tool against "May fatigue."
Highlight the Fun: Talk to your child about the special end-of-year projects or events happening in their classrooms this week.
Stay the Course: Unless your child is truly ill, prioritize school attendance over early vacation starts or non-essential appointments.
