Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
THANK YOU for your time, your talents, your energy, and that magical ability you all have to make this school feel like a second home. You truly care about our students and campus and it's seen through the work you put in daily.
You deserve way more than just one week of appreciation, but we hope you're showered with words of appreciation, gifts, hugs, and everything in between.
The PTA and your room parents have a lot planned for you! From the admin team, we'll be showing our love as a 'Countdown to May 29' Staff Appreciation event! Each week, leading up to May 29, we'll be sharing special catered lunches and treats. A flyer will be shared soon!
Are your students ready for EOY MAP Growth Testing?
Schedule of EOY MAP Growth Testing:

The end of year window for MAP Growth testing (Reading and Math) for all K-5 students opens up soon, May 5, and will close on May 23.
The district closely monitors student performance and GROWTH on MAP, especially from the beginning of year (BOY), to end of year (EOY).
Admin and sped team already have your grade level testing dates. Please continue with robust targeted interventions and/or continued enrichment opportunities to prepare your students for MAP testing.
Just like STAAR, we must take these assessments very seriously, and convey their importance to students.
Track & Field Reminders- Very Important
All classes should be wearing their class shirt or class color
Water bottle and athletic attire/close-toed shoes are mandatory
Parents are encouraged to float with your class. Please send them the sign-up form Deric emailed out! https://forms.gle/nLuXdVvYpPfXsGkk8
Popsicles will be dispersed on the blacktop after your class has lunch. Please bring them to the blacktop and have them sit on the turf. Once your class is finished, please gather them as we make room for the following classes!
There is no PE or WOW Monday through Thursday. Music and art will come to relieve you or assist you if essential areas fall during your track and field time. If your class goes to essentials Monday through Thursday, you will pick up your class from art or music, as there is no WOW.
Remind kids to bring extra snacks and extra clothes—they will be dirty and wet! It's better to be safe than sorry.
Please monitor student behavior when students are at company stations.
Lastly, the schedule is updated (slight changes have been made due to added companies). Please ensure parents have access to this so they know where to find their student. Have the rotations schedule printed or pulled up so you know where your

Active Playground Supervision by Staff
We need your help with active playground supervision when you are outside with your students during recess and WOW time.
We understand that recess can be a time for teachers to quickly huddle and touch base on pressing concerns, however, teachers and other staff need to spread out during the 30 minute recess period.
If you have students playing on the blacktop area (basketball hoops, four square, maps) to the left of the playground, a staff member/teacher needs to be positioned near this area.
Staff also need to be stationed near the Gaga pit/woods area.
Thank you for your support with this.
Safety on Campus
In light of the recent tragic school shooting in Georgia, we must continue to be as vigilant as ever with safety on campus.
Continued reminders:
1. Doors are shut and locked at all times. No exceptions. No propped door ever.
2. NEVER allow students to open classroom doors for people they don't know.
3. Active supervision. Make sure every single child under your wing is accounted for. Walk behind the class or beside the class so you can keep watchful eyes.
4. Playground and recess- all adults spread out to ensure we have eyes on all play areas.
5. See something, say something! Report all suspicious activity to admin and to the office. Never allow an individual to roam hallways without a visitors sticker.
