Dear Woods Lake Families,

We are excited to welcome you and your student(s) to a new school year! We are excited to announce that this year our school will be embracing a Superhero Theme! This initiative aims to create an engaging and motivating learning environment for our students.

As we embark on this journey together, we want to ensure that you are well-informed about our morning entry and dismissal procedures. Please take a moment to read through the important details below. The first day of school is Monday, August 26, 2024 and is a half day and the hours are 8:44 a.m. to 12:06 p.m. School will resume normal hours of 8:44 a.m. to 3:56 p.m.. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

You will need to complete important forms online and more information will be forthcoming.

First Day Morning Entry Procedure for Car Riders and Walkers

1. On the first day of school during morning entry please park in the Oakland Drive parking lot and

walk your child around to the rear of the building to meet their teacher. Please do not park in the lot off of Parkview because that is for the buses. Morning Entry is at 8:44 am and Dismissal is at 12:06 pm.

2. On the first day of school for dismissal parents arrive at the Oakland Drive parking lot and stay to

the right in your vehicle in a horseshoe fashion. A staff member will approach the vehicle to see who is being picked up and will then radio designated staff to call your student(s) for dismissal.

3. On the first day of school students that walk to school must report to the back of the building

to meet their teacher.

4. At dismissal students that walk home are dismissed through the main entrance by front office off of Oakland. Students must walk to the crosswalk located at Oakland and Parkview.

5. Please do not enter the school prior to 12:06 pm to pick up your child. If you have to pick up your child early from school for an emergency or an appointment then please contact the office at 269-337-0790 and speak to one of the secretaries no later than 11:00 am.

1. On the 2nd day of school during morning entry please enter in the Oakland Drive parking lot and

park your car if you are walking your student(s) to the Main Entrance. The students will line up at the Main Door off of Oakland Dr. Morning Entry is at 8:44 am and Dismissal is at 3:56 pm. Doors will open at 8:44 am for morning entry.

2. On the 2nd day of school for dismissal parents arrive at the Oakland Drive parking lot and stay to

the right in your vehicle in a horseshoe fashion. A staff member will approach the vehicle to see who is being picked up and will then radio designated staff to call for your student(s) for dismissal.

3. On the 2nd day of school students that walk to school must line up and enter through the Main Door off of Oakland Dr.

4. At dismissal students that walk home are dismissed through the main door. Students must walk to the crosswalk located at Oakland and Parkview.

5. Please do not enter the school prior to 3:56 pm to pick up your child. If you have to pick up your child early from school for an emergency or an appointment then please contact the office at 269-337-0790 and speak to one of the secretaries no later than 3:00 pm.

6. These procedures will be followed for the remainder of the school year.

1. We can't make same day bus changes.

2. If you have to make a transportation change then contact the Main Office.

3. Once the change has been made then you will be contacted.

4. Your student(s) will have to ride their assigned bus until the change has been made or you will have to transport your student(s) to and from school until the change is made.

5. Please contact the Main Office no later than 3:00 pm if you have a dismissal plan change.
