Lessons That Last
As we reach the end of another school year, I've been reflecting on what I hope our students carry with them into summer and beyond.
Of course, they learned to read more fluently, solve more challenging math problems, write more effectively, and think more deeply. Those things matter.
But the lessons that last the longest are often the ones that don't appear on a report card.
This year, our students learned that their choices matter. They learned that growth takes effort, that kindness matters, that they belong, and that they are capable of more than they sometimes realize. They also learned something important about community: none of us succeeds alone. Families, teachers, staff members, and friends all play a role in helping children grow.
As we close the 2025-2026 school year, I want to thank our Wildwood families for being our partners in that work. Together, we've helped our students learn not only new skills, but also important lessons about character, perseverance, and belonging.
Have a wonderful last week of school and a terrific summer, and thank you for another great year at Wildwood.
Warmly,
Mr. Lynch

Wildwood Senior Walk Tomorrow
We are excited to welcome our Wildwood graduating Seniors back to campus tomorrow for our annual Senior Walk on Monday, June 8. Our students will cheer them on as they parade through classrooms in their caps and gowns and join our students on the field for afternoon recess. It's a special time for graduating seniors to reflect and remember where their journey began. Our current students are equally excited to see where their journey is headed!
TK and K Parking Reminder for Monday, June 8
When TK and Kinder parents arrive at school for afternoon pick-up at 1:20pm tomorrow (6/9), Wildwood Senior alumni will be on campus for the Senior Walk. The available parking on the streets may be sparse. Please plan accordingly.
Sub-Zero Assemblies and Slime Day Success!
Our schoolwide Sub-Zero Ice Cream and Slime Assemblies this past Friday were a blast! We had a great time celebrating this year's fundraising success. Thanks again to our Wildwood PTA for organizing these events, and thank you to all of you who contribute so generously to our school and your children's education each school year!
The Annual Egg Drop
Congratulations to all of our GATE engineers-in-training who participated in the Annual Egg Drop this past week. Our Tigers proved again that there is a joy in the journey of discovery, and all in attendance had an egg-cellent time!
We have a Wildwood laptop at home. What do we do with it?
If you have a device at home that you checked out this school year from Wildwood, you may keep it at home for use during the summer break and into the coming school year.
The only students who must return laptops and chargers by Friday, June 5 include:
- ALL 5th grade students
- Students changing schools
- Students with devices that are not working correctly.
Thanks for your cooperation with our efforts to make sure that our technology remains secure and available for use each school year.
Leaving Wildwood? We Need Your Help!
If your child will not be returning to Wildwood Elementary next school year, please contact our school office as soon as possible. Early notification helps us plan class placements, staffing, and support services for all students.
This request applies to students in TK–4th grade only. Families of current 5th-grade students do not need to contact us, as we know they will be moving on to middle school.
Thank you for helping us prepare for a successful start to the new school year!

Summer Fun and Summer Gains
With summer break just 4 school days away, now is also a great time to make a plan to ensure that the academic gains your child made this school year are maintained and that they are well-positioned for success when school begins in August. An easy way to do this is to set aside a small block of time each day for your child to practice reading, writing, and math skills. There are many engaging, age-appropriate resources available to help. Summer bridging activity books like the ones linked HERE are popular choices for many families, and CVUSD will be sending a flyer home in your child's report card on the last day of school highlighting additional online options.
Of course, daily reading remains one of the most effective ways to support your child's learning. Just 20 minutes of reading each day can help students maintain and strengthen the literacy skills that support success across all subject areas.
Please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions regarding targeted skills your child may benefit from practicing during the summer months.
