Wear Orange On Unity Day, October 21
Unity Day is an annual event occurring during National Bullying Prevention Month in October that promotes joining together to create healthier communities through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. It was started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011 and is now celebrated around the world.
Staff and students are encouraged to wear orange on October 21 to show that we are united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. See the PACER Unity Day Guide for more classroom ideas.
October 23 Football Game Rescheduled To October 24
It is the practice of the CH-UH City School District to partner with the Cleveland Heights Police Department to ensure everyone’s safety at home football games, given the large crowds. However, for the game originally scheduled for Friday, October 23, we were unable to coordinate sufficient police coverage. Therefore, this game has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, October 24 at 1 p.m. at Heights High School.
The decision to move the game was made first and foremost with safety in mind. The safety and security of our students, families, staff, and all game attendees is our top priority at all times. There will be a police presence at the game on October 24. Our usual safety protocols will be in place as well.
Quarter 1 Grading Window Open Now Through October 23

The District's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential and free resource designed to support you and your immediate family members with a wide range of services, including mental health counseling, legal and financial guidance, wellness and work-life balance resources, and personal and professional development programs. This program is available 24/7 and aims to support your well-being—both at work and at home.
If you know of any student in need of social and/or emotional support, please complete the referral form located in the Important Links section of their school's page on CHUH.org. Anyone can complete this referral form, and submissions are routed directly to the school social worker and counselors for follow-up.
Our “see something, say something” policy applies to our school community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Anyone can access the Safe School Helpline to report threats, bullying, or other such behavior. Call 1-800-4-1-VOICE (1-800-418-6423) ext. 359 to leave your information, or submit a report online.
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available here. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.
The Communications Department wants to share the wonderful classroom-based happenings with our community. If you would like to have a Communications Department member come to your school to gather photos and notes, please fill out this Google Form to book a date and time.
Families, staff, students and community members may use this form to offer their suggestions, feedback and comments to Superintendent Elizabeth Kirby, or ask questions. Unless you choose to provide contact information, your submission will remain anonymous.
