Hello Glendale Staff Members-

I want to wish all of you a wonderful start to your well-deserved Summer BREAK!! I would like to say thank you for all of your patience and grace as I finish my last stretch here with the High School. The end of the year for our High Schoolers, especially our Seniors is quite busy right to the end. I can't express enough how excited I am to be a part of the Glendale Family. During my time spent in the building and at events, the excitement and positive energy that you all have for your students and one another is infectious. One that I look forward to being a part of and savor during our time together.

Crawling out of the pandemic this year has been one of the toughest times in education for all of us. A year of getting knocked down, trying to get through certain days, while others seemed to be going just fine, only to find out that something occurred to make us even more stressed, upset, or anxious. No matter what comes our way, personally or professionally, it's the power of our family, loved ones, friends, students, and the force of a team that can get you through anything. I am not going to promise you that we won't face new problems or that everything will be sunshine and roses throughout our time together, but I can promise you that I will be there for all of you, to listen and problem solve with you on whatever comes our way. It will take time for all of us to build trust with one another, but I am certain that with time and the willingness to work together, we will be a driving force to do amazing things for kids and each other.

Please make sure that you take time to RELAX and enjoy the summer with your families and loved ones! Laugh, sleep, chill, recharge and have fun!! I am excited to get started on Friday, July 1st, and look forward to hearing about all of your adventures over the summer. I will continue to keep you informed throughout the summer with updates and important information, without overwhelming you, as I want to make sure you enjoy your time off.

Joleen's leadership will be missed not only at Glendale but throughout the district. I am proud that I have been able to work alongside her and have the opportunity to have her as a mentor and friend during my time at Sweet Home. Her legacy and the culture that she has created with all of you is special and it's something that I intend to keep and grow! She has created and maintained a place where both students and staff love to be a part of and that is exactly what I plan to do. Joleen has taught me the power of making our kids feel special, confident, and creating a place where families and staff members love to be a part of. She has been a driving force for all of us and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for all that she has done. Thank you for celebrating her in so many special ways over the last few weeks of the year as she said goodbye to everyone. It truly is an honor to step in for her and be a part of Glendale.

This year our Elementary Summer School programs will be held at both Maplemere and Glendale buildings. We are happy to open our doors to so many students who have signed up for Reading and Math instructional support to help strengthen their academic skills. Our program will house students from all buildings, including our ENL Summer Program. The program begins July 11th - August 18th, Monday - Thursday from 8:00-11:30. Thank you to those who are allowing us to use your classrooms over the summer and we appreciate anyone taking time out of their summer to support our youngest Panthers! A shoutout to our Coaches and interventionists for helping our Summer School team with resources, materials, and helping with our groupings for each session.
