Westshire Edition
Principal's Message
What a great week we have had here at Westshire Elementary School! The first three days of school have flown by. The students have been so welcoming and friendly, which has made my transition to Westshire so much easier. I look forward to getting to know all of the students better in the weeks ahead.
Over the next few weeks teachers and students will be learning classroom rules and expectations together. Setting up these routines early and practicing them will help the rest of the year go much more smoothly. Whenever, possible I like to have students take an active role in creating classroom and school expectations.
As I mentioned before, you should be expecting a brief email from your child's classroom teacher each week. Communication early and often is key to establishing a supportive school to home relationship. Speaking of communication; please be aware that I have encouraged teachers not to put their work email on their personal cell phones. If you are emailing your child's teacher, they should respond to you within twenty four hours and during school hours. I do not have email on my cell phone and it has created a much better work, life balance. If you need an immediate response you should call the main office.
I look forward to working, learning and growing with the Westshire community this year.
~Loretta
PS: Reminder that there is no school next Friday.
