What Weβre Learning at APPLES
Tree Unit of Study
We are heading into our second week of our Trees Unit! The children are continuing to explore how trees grow, change, and play an important role in the world around us.
Take a moment to read the storyboard below to learn more about the exciting activities and learning experiences your child will enjoy throughout this unit!
Attendance Competition!
October is AAC Awareness Month!
In celebration of AAC Awareness Month, our classrooms worked together to create a school-wide AAC communication board, now proudly displayed at the front of our school! This collaborative project highlights the importance of communication and reminds us that every child deserves a voice!
Did you know? Research shows that AAC does not prevent children from learning to talk. In fact, it can support speech and language development! See an article below to learn more about the benefits of AAC.
Autism Awareness Shirts β Now $10!
Our 2026 Autism Awareness shirts are on sale throughout October! Limited sizes and quantities available. Purchase your shirt here!
Cold & Flu Season Reminder
Important Health Reminder
Our school nurses have been reaching out to families to ensure all students have up-to-date medical records. All students must have a current physical examination (completed within the past year) and updated immunization records on file.
If you have been contacted by our nursing staff, please work with them to ensure your childβs medical records are complete and meet school health requirements.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our APPLES community healthy and safe!
Medical Forms and Flu Shot Form
Please make sure the school has your childβs current physical, immunization records, and medication authorization form (if needed).
All preschool students must receive their flu vaccine by December 15, 2026. Students without required medical documentation, including the flu vaccine, cannot attend school.
Please see the attached letter from our school nurse for more information. English and Spanish versions are included.
