FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Families,
Remember, students do have school tomorrow! Students can wear Free Dress tomorrow!
Remember, our doors do not open until 7:15. Students who arrive early have been observed engaging in unsafe behaviors, including fights, going to the public park and court areas, playing on rocks, and walking around the parking lot. Early arrival also creates serious safety risks due to moving vehicles, lack of supervision, cold weather, and the potential for rough play or fighting.
Supervision begins at 7:15 a.m. Life School is not responsible for student supervision until our doors open at 7:15 a.m. Click here for information about Before School Powerhouse to ensure your child is safe and monitored at all times.

Bzzz! March Forward: Fuel Your Body, Brain & Sleep!
As parents, you help your child grow strong, stay energized, and do their best in school. The USDA’s MyPlate is a simple guide for building balanced meals with grains, fruits, vegetables, protein, and dairy.
Encourage healthy choices at home:
✅ Include colorful fruits and vegetables in meals
✅ Offer lean proteins and whole grains
✅ Limit sugary snacks and high-fat foods
Healthy options to try:
Fruits: apples, bananas, oranges, berries
Vegetables: carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, corn
Grains: whole-grain bread, rice, oatmeal
Protein: chicken, eggs, beans, peanut butter
Dairy: milk, yogurt, cheese
Play safely! March is also Brain Injury Awareness Month.
Research shows even mild concussions can affect learning, attention, memory, and mood. Parents should watch for warning signs of a head injury, such as:We also encourage families to talk about brain safety. Remind children to wear helmets, use seatbelts, and play safely. If your child experiences a blow to the head, please monitor for symptoms such as headache, vomiting, dizziness, sensitivity to light, or unusual behavior, and seek medical care when needed. Always notify the school nurse of any diagnosed concussion so we can provide support at school.
Headache or pressure
Dizziness, balance issues, or clumsiness
Nausea or vomiting
Sensitivity to light or noise
Trouble concentrating, forgetfulness, or confusion
Mood changes or irritability
Fatigue or unusual drowsiness
If your child hits their head:
Have them stop activity immediately
Monitor for any symptoms listed above
Seek medical evaluation, even for mild symptoms
Communicate with school staff if symptoms appear
Healthy sleep is just as important as healthy food.
Children who get enough rest are better able to manage emotions, stay focused, and heal from illness or injury. Consistent bedtimes, limiting screens before bed, and calming routines can make a big difference.Sleep is essential! Adequate rest supports brain recovery, focus, and overall health.
Encourage healthy habits: Eat well. Sleep well. Play safe!
Attendance Reminders & Expectations
This message is a reminder of our arrival and dismissal expectations. Campus doors open at 7:15 a.m., and instruction begins promptly at 7:40 a.m. Students should be in class and ready to learn by that time. As a campus serving over 1,000 students, morning traffic can be busy, and we ask families to plan accordingly.
A five-minute grace period is provided, with tardies recorded beginning at 7:45 a.m. Traffic delays due to accidents or inclement weather are taken into consideration.
The school day ends at 4:05 p.m. Early releases should be limited to necessary situations whenever possible.
Recently, we have seen an increase in unexcused tardies and early releases, which disrupt instructional time and impact learning. One of our goals is to help students grow as LifeLeaders by building positive habits that will support them as they get older, including the importance of being on time and valuing learning.
Below are the attendance brochure and flyer with additional attendance information.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting a safe, orderly, and learning-focused school day.

DEVELOPING LEADERS AT LSRO
Weekly I Will Statements
During morning announcements, we will focus on one LifeLeader Attribute each week and learn what we need to do to develop each attribute so that we can become effective leaders in our school and in our community. We encourage students and families to memorize these statements together and talk about how the attribute is exhibited at home, school and work. We will share the I Will statement in the weekly newsletter and on our campus Facebook page. We look forward to hearing how students are exhibiting the attributes at school and home. Click here to view all 15 LifeLeader attributes.
LifeLeader School Rules - Growing Leaders of Character
LifeLeader School Rules - Growing Leaders of Character
During the first six weeks of school, we’re introducing our LifeLeader School Rules to help students grow as leaders of strong character. Every two weeks, we’ll focus on one of the three school rules, reinforcing positive behaviors that support our mission.
We invite you to partner with us by asking your child how they are demonstrating these school rules both at school and at home.
