Full School Evacuation Practice

This Friday, June 2nd, we will be conducting a full school, off site evacuation practice. This is one of the many safety drills we are required to do each year by the state. We will be walking to our evacuation location at 8:50am on Friday morning, which is just a short walk from school, and will plan to return back to UES no later than 9:45am.

This drill is designed to be conducted in a developmentally appropriate way, talking to students about some of the reason we why we might need to evacuate the school such as pipes bursting, a fire or extreme weather (which yes, is unlikely in Vermont) and reinforcing the importance of practicing the walk there so everyone knows where we would go if we ever needed to evacuate.

This will be our final safety drill of the 2022-2023 school year. We appreciate how supportive families have been and want to recognize the UES Safety Team for all of their hard work during this school year.

Paper Bags Needed!

Hello UES Families,

Please bring a labeled reusable or paper bag to school this week for your child’s remaining art masterpieces to go home! You are welcome to send the bags in on Tuesday and we can save them for their Art day. If you have extra paper bags to spare, please send them with your child.

Thank You,

Kristina Kane (Art Teacher)

UES 2022-2023 End of Year Caregiver Survey

Hello Wise Owl Families,

This year, as part of my professional growth as well as working towards creating the best learning experience possible for all UES students, your feedback is crucial. As I finish out my first year leading UES, this survey is to collect end of year data that will help as I set goals for myself and UES for the upcoming school year. I will digest the results and reflect on ways to make UES an even better learning environment for all. If you feel you don't have enough information to answer any of the questions, please don't hesitate to select "I don't know", that is good data for me as well.

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. Thanks for helping us grow!

Warmly,

Katie Barea - UES Principal
