Y6 Camp
We’ve been hearing great things from the Y6 Camp so far, with fantastic ‘can-do’ attitudes from the children, and a very supportive feeling all round, showing the MENPS Touchstones in action!
We look forward to seeing the children tired but no doubt brimming with exciting stories and accomplishments tomorrow!
Board Triennial Elections
In other news, we have been advised by our Returning Officer that we have received a healthy number of candidates for the upcoming Board Election, and so a vote will be held.
Please look out for information on this, as it is important to have strong community participation. Board members not only contribute individual skills as volunteers, but they also function to help shape a vision that is based on a range of experience with a strong parent lens, in addition to staff input. Make sure your voice is heard by voting when the information is sent to all members of the electoral role soon.
I would like to add a huge thanks to all those who have volunteered to stand for this essential position for our school. As you may have heard in the media, Board candidates are at historic lows and a genuine struggle for many schools, so it is great to see that democracy is still alive and thriving in Mt Eden! It isn’t something we take for granted as a school, and it is appreciated.
In my experience of decades serving on school Boards, I have learnt so much from the many trustees I have worked with, all of whom give up their time to help ensure school continues to thrive.
It’s a collective community effort to be proud of, and I am looking forward to returning members and also the ‘next generation’ to pick up the torch in September.
Maths Week Next Week!
On a final note, next week is our annual Maths Week, promoting a love of maths through a variety of fun activities across the school.
Always a highlight, and definitely one to look forward to!
