Homecoming 2025

Homecoming is always a special time for our school community to come together, and this week has been filled with energy, spirit, and celebration. Our Student Body Officers worked hard to create lasting memories for their classmates, and it has truly been a spirited week. From daily dress-up themes, to movie night, bingo night, pancakes, sidewalk painting, and today’s pep rally—students have had so many opportunities to connect and celebrate the start of a great year.

Tonight, we look forward to our homecoming game, complete with skydivers, fireworks, and our student section decked out in “AmeriCuse” red, white, and blue as we show our school pride and our USA spirit. Tomorrow, we will conclude homecoming week with our dance—a perfect way to wrap up the celebrations.

Although I have only been the principal for a short time, I have loved getting to know your students. We have an incredible community, and I am proud to be a Titan, we hope that all students are gaining a sense of community and school spirit and proud of being a Titan.

The PSAT is a standardized test that provides firsthand practice for the SAT exam. You can only take the PSAT once per year, and many students take the test in both 10th and 11th grade.

The PSAT tests your skills in reading, writing, and math. Unlike the SAT, the highest score possible on the PSAT is 1520.

WHY SHOULD YOUR STUDENT TAKE THE PSAT TEST?

• To help your student prepare for the ACT and/or SAT.

• To receive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses on skills necessary for college.

• To see how their performance on an admissions test might compare with that of others applying to college.

• To enter the competition for scholarships for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

• To receive information from colleges.

Syracuse High School will be administering the test on Wednesday, October 22nd. The test will begin at approximately 7:30 AM and students will be finished before lunch. This is a school excused absence.

This test is for sophomores and juniors. The fee is $18 to be paid in the main office, and the last day to sign up for the test is Monday, October 10th, or until the spots are filled. There are a limited amount of tests, so please sign up soon. Once you are registered, we will provide a study guide. Room assignments will be posted the day before and morning of the test in the main office.

If you have any questions, please come and see your counselor before or after school, or during lunch.

This meeting is for all students who are interested in the Sterling Scholar program. All 10-11-12 graders are welcome to attend! Find out what the Sterling Scholar program is and what it takes to become a Sterling Scholar.

Need citizen makeup? Attending the showcase will remove 1 U. Students will need to purchase a ticket and attend the entire show.

On most Wednesdays, the Counseling Center will hold Titan Time from 2:30-4:30. This is held in the library. Students can do the following at Titan Time:

• Access a computer

• Make up a “U” (bring prepaid “U” makeup receipt)

• Restore lost credit with Edgenuity or other homework

• Take an online test

• Earn elective credit (0.25 credits will be awarded for attending 18 complete Titan Time sessions.)
