FUEL 5th Grade Monthly Update

Hello 5th Grade Families!

This year, I will share out a monthly flyer specifically for 5th grade families that will be focused on 5th grade events and to-dos. This final year of elementary school can often be a whirlwind of events and activities - our goal is to send one of these informational newsletters out each month with your need-to-knows!

Note: this does NOT take the place of the FUEL weekly newsletter. Your school-wide events, dates, etc. will still all only be in that newsletter. The regular newsletter will also contain 5th grade events as well, but this will hopefully help to streamline the information for you in this final semester.

This will also include a monthly newsletter from the FMS staff with this newsletter that will contain all of your need-to-knows for the big transitions coming in the spring.

• Monday, 4/6 - Friday, 5/22 - MSTEP Testing Window (see below)
• Monday, 4/20 - ALL CAMP PAYMENTS and FORMS due (no extensions, no late submissions)
• Tuesday, 5/19 - Tentative 5th Grade ZOO Field Trip
• Tuesday, 5/26 - Thursday, 5/28 - 5th Grade Overnight Camp at Camp Copneconic (camp information SLIDES & Volunteer Sign Up & Copneconic Dietary Form)

MSTEP Assessments

5th grade is a heavy year for MSTEP Testing! Please be sure to reinforce the idea of taking their time, trying their best, and NOT stressing out! Please be sure students arrive to school on time - most testing will begin no later than 9 am.

• Thurs. 4/9 - MSTEP Science
• Tues. 4/14, Wed. 4/15 - MSTEP ELA
• Tues. 4/28 & Wed. 4/29 - MSTEP Mathematics
• Tues. 5/5 - MSTEP Social Studies
