PRINCIPAL'S NOTE
Welcome to November! We wrapped up October in style, with many exciting activities. On Thursday, October 27th, we gathered in the gym to participate in Read for the Record by reading Nigel and the Moon. This event is the world’s largest shared reading experience. Our Pre-K and K students were on a field trip to Noble Hill Preserve, and they even stopped to read. On Halloween, we celebrated by having two special treats. Miss Anna served Halloween donuts, and our PTA provided us with delicious smoothies.
November is the time to think about Parent/Teacher conferences. Be on the lookout for a note from your child's teacher to schedule a conference. I can't stress enough the importance of meeting with your child's teacher to discuss how things are going. According to Responsive Classroom, parent involvement in education is crucial. Students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.
I hope that you will be able to join us for our Thanksgiving Friends and Family Feast on Thursday, November 17th. Please see the enclosed flyer for more information.
Because we have a short week next week, with a professional development day on Thursday and Veterans Day on Friday, there will not be a Log coming home.
