A Message from Principal Groves
Dear Blacklick Families:
Happy Mother's Day! I hope you are enjoying the weekend with friends and family!
What an awesome day we had last Friday at our Strides for PRIDE event! I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Strides for PRIDE planning committee, led by Karen Davidson, that organized this event. I also want to extend a huge thank you to our Silent Auction Team led by Megan Rush and our Corporate Sponsor Team led by Erin Miller. Hours upon hours are put into the planning process that starts in January! We really appreciate all you do to make this day a success for our students! Also, thank you to all of the parents/guardians that volunteered your time on Friday at our event. We appreciate your time and energy!
Finally, THANK YOU to all of our families and corporate sponsors that made a donation to our Strides for PRIDE event! In total we collected $42,903.70! This is an AMAZING total! We are so grateful to have such a supportive school community!
In addition, thank you to Kristin Stewart and her team that organized Staff Appreciation Week last week for our staff! Thank you to all parents/families that donated to this week! We loved all of the special treats! Your thoughtfulness and appreciation mean so much to us, and it truly made our week!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Respectfully,
Kristen Groves

Note from Mrs. Ball, Librarian
All Blacklick library books are now due! If your student brought home a reminder slip, please help them return their book to the library as soon as possible. TalkingPoint reminders will go out next week about any books not yet returned. Thank you for your help with this!
To encourage your student to read over the summer, they can complete the Blacklick Summer Reading Bingo, register for the public library's Summer Reading Challenge at
columbuslibrary.org/summerreading or stop in any Columbus Metropolitan Library location after May 31, or visit the sunshine on the Blacklick Library website for more suggestions (your student should be able to show you that information).

Share your Thanks for a Blacklick Staff Member!
Dear Parents,
We invite you to share a few kind words or a heartfelt message for your child's teacher or Blacklick staff member. Our staff works tirelessly to provide the best education and support for our children, and your appreciation can make a significant impact on their day.
Please take a moment to express your gratitude, share a positive experience, or simply say thank you.
Your messages will be shared with the staff member to brighten their day and acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
Thank you for your participation and support!
BES Staff Favorite Things
A list has been complied of the Blacklick staff's favorite things. It is important to understand the teachers are not asking for gifts. We know that many parents might want to get their child's teacher a gift and this list is to help you select something the teacher would like. Please do not feel obligated to buy a gift for your child's teachers/staff members. A thoughtful note from you and/or your child at any time of the year is appreciated just as much or more as any gift.
