Note From Our Principal
Dear RedHawk Families
We are committed to continuous growth at Wredling, and your voice matters in that process. The 2026 Illinois 5Essentials Survey is open from February 3 through March 13, and we invite you to take a few minutes to share your feedback about our school community.
The 5Essentials survey measures five research-based components that are strongly connected to improved student learning and achievement:
Effective Leaders – School leaders and teachers work together to implement a shared vision.
Collaborative Teachers – Teachers collaborate and support one another’s professional growth.
Involved Families – Families and staff partner to support student learning.
Supportive Environment – Schools are safe, orderly, and hold high expectations for students.
Ambitious Instruction – Classroom learning is engaging, challenging, and meaningful.
The parent survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete, and all responses are anonymous. Results are compiled into a 5Essentials Report for each school and help guide our ongoing improvement efforts.
Your perspective helps shape the work we do every day. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for your continued partnership in supporting our Redhawks.
With appreciation,
Francesca Favero, Wredling Principal

Quiet Fidgets Requested
We have some amazingly talented student who have been showcasing some of their fabulous fidgets at school. While we encourage our students to utilize tools that help them, the expectation is that these fidgets do not make any noise or cause distraction from student learning. As we relay these messages in school, we ask that you facilitate some of these conversations at home.
We do have some examples of quiet or silent fidgets for use in school. Paper clips, textured worry stones, Nee Doh, marble mesh fidget, fidget rings, and Calm Strips or sensory strips that can be adhered on their Chromebook or folder. These are pictured with this message. This is a sample list but you may discover some options that will work as well.

Help Us Collect ONE MILLION Pop Tabs!
We’re on a mission to collect one million pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities, and we can’t do it without YOU (and your grandparents, cousins, neighbors, and carpool crew)!
Those tiny aluminum tabs from soda cans, soup lids, or sparkling water may seem small—but when we collect them together, they add up to real support for families with seriously ill children.
Here’s how to pitch in:
Save your pop tabs at home—and ask your grandparents, cousins, friends, and neighbors to do the same!
Bring them to school all year long.
Every tab brings us closer to our 1,000,000-tab goal!
Let's pull together and make a difference!
