A Message from Principal Ballard
Winchester Avenue families, as we approach November, I want to thank you for your continued support and partnership! Each day, we are working hard to help our students grow academically, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to be successful in and out of the classroom.
At Winchester Avenue, SOARing is more than a motto—it is how we learn, grow, and treat one another every day!Our SOAR expectations guide students in making positive choices and creating a safe, welcoming environment where everyone can learn.
S – Safety First: Students keep their hands, feet, and objects to themselves, follow directions, and make choices that help keep themselves and others safe.
O – Own Your Actions: Students take responsibility for their choices, tell the truth, follow through with expectations, and learn from their mistakes.
A – Always Achieving: Students give their best effort, participate in learning, keep trying when work is challenging, and take pride in their progress.
R – Respect Myself and Others: Students use kind words, listen when others are speaking, follow adult directions, and treat classmates, staff, and school property with care.
Families can help reinforce these expectations at home by talking with your child about their daily choices, celebrating positive behavior, and encouraging responsibility and kindness. Please continue to support academic success by ensuring your child arrives at school on time, reading together for 15–20 minutes each evening, and practicing math facts.
As we enter November, let’s continue working together to build a school community where every child feels safe, loved, supported, and ready to learn. Thank you for being an important part of our Winchester Avenue family!
Keep SOARing, Owls! 🦉❤️💛
Pre K Families
Parking Reminders
Happy Sunday, Pre-K Families! 💛
As we head into the week, we want to share a quick reminder about pickup procedures. We have done an AMAZING job respecting road safety laws and keeping our students and families safe. Please continue to help us by not parking in crosswalks, allowing pedestrians to cross safely, and not double parking along the street during pickup. These areas must remain clear to ensure everyone can travel safely.
Student and family safety will ALWAYS be a top priority at Winchester Avenue. Thank you for your continued cooperation and for helping us keep our school community safe!
We hope you enjoy this Friday with your little ones and have a wonderful weekend!
Keep SOARing! 🦉
