Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

Dear Nativity Families,

The time has finally come to begin setting those alarms, packing those lunches, pressing the uniforms, and shining those shoes! After a wonderful summer, our teachers, staff, and administration have spent this week preparing our campus, classrooms, and curriculum for the start of what we know will be another wonderful year of learning, growing, and walking together in Christ and as a community. And this year, we have an especially meaningful milestone to celebrate: 30 years of The Nativity School!

Yesterday evening, we had the joy of welcoming our new-to-Nativity families with a mixer in our Grotto. We have been blessed with so many wonderful new families who are eager to get started and learn all things Nativity. I know you will join me in extending a warm and enthusiastic welcome as we begin our school year together.

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 19 at 8:00am. Our front gates will be ready for lots of hugs, smiles, and joyful greetings as our students arrive. We are especially excited to gather for our Opening School Assembly at 8:30am in the HFAC. Parents are warmly invited to stay, enjoy a cup of coffee in the HFAC, and be part of this special beginning to our new school year.

A few reminders:

Save the Date: Our 30th Anniversary Back-to-School BBQ August 23 11:30-2:30
Please be sure to save the date for our Back-to-School BBQ celebrating 30 years of Nativity and let us know you are coming! The QR code to RSVP is located on the flyer below this newsletter. Scroll down for all the details. We can't wait to celebrate this special milestone with our entire Nativity community!

New School Volunteer Requirements
We are incredibly grateful for the many parents who generously volunteer their time and talents throughout the school year. Your partnership is one of the great blessings of our school community.

Please take a moment to read the information below regarding new state-mandated requirements under SB 848 for school volunteers. We are working to make the process as easy as possible and are planning to schedule a date for Livescan to come to campus so that parents who need to complete this requirement can do so conveniently at school. Teachers will also be communicating with you regarding updated volunteer requirements.

We recognize that this adds another step to the process of securing volunteers, but we are confident that our community shares our commitment to creating the safest possible environment for our students. Thank you, as always, for your patience, partnership, and willingness to serve.

As we prepare to welcome our students back, I am reminded that a new school year is about so much more than new classes, new routines, and new learning. It is an opportunity to begin again—to grow in wisdom, strengthen our relationships, and draw closer to Christ. We are blessed to begin this year together as a Catholic school community, committed to challenging both minds and hearts and forming young people who will use their gifts in service to others and the greater good. May God bless our students, families, faculty and staff as we begin this new chapter together.

Have a wonderful final summer weekend, and we will see you Wednesday morning!

Warmly,

Brittany Bateman
