WBHS Athletic Captains Read at RLM
Dr. Seuss Magic Show
Tommy’s high-energy school assembly is a 45-minute, surprise-filled performance! Inspired by the imaginative world of Dr. Seuss, this engaging show celebrates the joy of reading while highlighting the magic books bring to our lives.
With appearances by Thing 1 and Thing 2, a lively retelling of The Tortoise and the Hare featuring student helpers, and even the magical appearance of a real live bunny, students are captivated from start to finish. Along the way, they’ll explore the wonders of the library, take the Readers Oath, and discover that reading can be fun, educational, and relaxing all at once.
Complete with a professional backdrop, sound system, music, and special effects, this assembly is an unforgettable celebration of books and imagination!
Gather Here Grade 2 Assembly
Gather Here is a 45-minute live, multicultural experience that takes students on a musical journey around the world! Through Brian Chevalier’s high-energy, interactive songs and a vibrant visual presentation, students explore how and why people gather across different cultures. The show highlights global music influences, traditions, and holidays—revealing how many “American” customs actually have roots in other countries. With a powerful message of strength through diversity woven throughout, Gather Here keeps students engaged, inspired, and learning from start to finish.
PRIDE program at RLM
At RLM, our PRIDE program is designed to help students grow not only as learners, but also as caring, responsible community members. Each month, teachers and students focus on one of our PRIDE traits:
-
September – Passion
-
October – Respect
-
November – Ingenuity
-
December – Determination
-
January – Empathy
-
February – Positivity
-
March – Responsibility
-
April – Inclusivity
-
May – Dreamer
Throughout the month, students learn about the featured trait in their classrooms and in schoolwide activities. On Mondays and Fridays, student volunteers share examples and their own interpretations of the trait during morning announcements. At the end of each month, we celebrate students who have done an exceptional job demonstrating the trait in their daily actions. These students will also receive a token to "purchase" a book from our school book vending machine.
Our PRIDE program helps us build a school culture where character, leadership, and positive choices are valued and celebrated.
Our Positivity Award Winners!
We are going to have published student writers!
All students in grades 1-3 are participating in a special writing activity that will be published in a classroom-created book by Studentreasures Publishing. Your child will have his/her own pages in the class book; one with his/her writing and the other with his/her illustration. The other pages will showcase your child’s classmates’ work. While book purchases are optional, we highly recommend this book as an amazing keepsake for you and your child. If you pre-order the book, you will save money, and you will be given the book before the end of the school year. order form. Order forms went home on Monday, March 2nd. We have extra copies on hand if needed, or you are welcome to visit https://portal.studentreasures.com/shopping/preorder to place an order online. ALL ORDERS AND PAYMENTS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, MARCH 27th. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or Mrs. Enos (RLM Reading Specialist) at jenos@wbridgewater.com.
March Math Madness!
The Student Council is hosting a month-long math challenge for students. It is called MARCH MATH MADNESS! It was introduced earlier this week by a special announcement and the very first challenge will took place on yesterday on Thursday, March 5th. The challenge will be held at the end of each week in March. First graders will complete addition and subtraction facts up to 10. Second graders will work on addition and subtraction facts up to 20. Third graders will focus on multiplication facts up to the 10s table. It is a timed challenge - 2 minutes to try to complete 20 facts. Will you practice and grow stronger? We hope so! (Look for you child's first score sheet coming home today, and set a goal to achieve for the coming weeks!)
A Note From Our School Nurse Mrs. Dennis
Dear Families,
The health office is currently in need of clothing donations. As an elementary school, students frequently need a change of clothes due to lunchroom spills, bathroom mishaps, and muddy falls on the playground.
We are seeking gently used or new items in all elementary sizes. Elastic waist pants, sweatpants, leggings, shorts, and new unopened underwear are especially appreciated.
Families are also encouraged to pack a personal change of clothes in their child’s backpack in a labeled zip-top bag with their name on it. This can help students quickly change and return to class if needed.
If you are able to donate, please send items to the front office labeled for the Health Office.
Thank you for your support in helping our students feel clean, dry, and comfortable during the school day.
