MARCH EVENTS
Annual Family Health Fair
The FACE Department hosted the first Aldine Family Health Fair on Saturday, March 26, at the Donaldson Child Nutrition building. About 400 families had the opportunity to get their blood pressure checked, learn how to perform CPR, receive information about free dental services, receive the COVID vaccine and flu shots, nutrition information, taste healthy recipes, and take pictures with Mirabel from Disneys' Encanto. We are very thankful for the support provided by the community partners who participated in this event: Aldine Child Nutrition, Harris County Emergency Corps, Harris County Public Health Services, Hope Clinic, Legacy Community Health, MD Anderson, Mi Familia Dental, Molina Health Care, Spring Branch Health Center, Texas Children's Hospital, and UHP Health.
The Power of Education Speaker Series
Motivational Speaker and book author Robert Harper presented The Power of Education Speaker Series at several campuses in Aldine ISD. Families at Nimitz HS, Nimitz Ninth, Dunn ES, Young Women's Leadership Academy, Jones Primary, Jones ES, Jones MS, Francis ES, Johnson ES, Carver HS, Reece Academy, Houston Academy, Anderson Academy, Drew Academy, Cypreswood ES, Teague MS, Magrill Primary, and Ogden ES enjoyed the powerful message shared by Harper.
