Principal's Message
Dear Colt Families,
What a fun day we had at Morning Creek yesterday! Our Costume Parade was filled with smiles, creativity, and plenty of Halloween spirit. It was wonderful to see our Colts showing off their costumes and enjoying the festivities with their friends. Thank you to all of our families who joined us for the parade and helped make the classroom celebrations so special. We love having our families on campus and appreciate the time and energy you put into creating these memorable experiences for our students.
As we head into November, we have a busy start to the week! On Monday, we look forward to welcoming our VAPA teachers for another day of learning and creativity through the arts.
Tuesday, November 3, is a minimum day, with dismissal at 12:00 PM. This is a Morning Creek-specific Professional Growth Day, providing our staff with dedicated time to collaborate, reflect, and continue strengthening instruction for our students. We appreciate your support in making arrangements to pick up your children promptly at noon.
Thank you for being such an important part of our Morning Creek community. We are grateful for the partnership we share in making our school a place where students feel connected, supported, and excited to learn.
Have a wonderful weekend!

The Giving Tree
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we enter cold and flu season, we are seeing an increase in the number of students coming to school feeling ill. We understand that families have busy schedules and that missing school can be challenging; however, we ask for your help in keeping our school community healthy by ensuring that children are well enough to return to school after an illness.
Our Health Office supports a school community, with one Health Technician available to assist students who become ill or injured during the school day. When many students are experiencing symptoms of illness, it can be challenging to provide timely care to everyone who needs assistance.
Please help us reduce the spread of illness by:
Keeping your child home when they are sick. If your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or symptoms that prevent them from comfortably participating in school activities, please keep them home.
Waiting until symptoms have improved and your child is ready to return. Please follow school district guidelines for return to school, including any applicable fever-free requirements.
Encouraging good hygiene. Remind your child to wash their hands frequently, cover coughs and sneezes, and avoid sharing food or drinks.
Monitoring your child throughout the day. If your child is not feeling well before school, please consider whether they are ready to participate in a full day of learning.
We recognize that some symptoms, such as a lingering cough or runny nose, may persist after an illness. Please use your best judgment and follow school guidelines when deciding whether your child is well enough to attend. Our shared goal is to maintain a healthy learning environment for all students and staff while ensuring that students who need care during the school day can receive appropriate attention.
For more information, please follow our Health Services webpage.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and consideration for the health and well-being of our entire school community. We appreciate your partnership in helping keep our students healthy and ready to learn.

Fall Family Picnic
We’re looking forward to welcoming families to campus for our Fall Family Picnic! After your student’s lunch period, students will return to class for the remainder of the school day. To help minimize disruptions to learning, we ask that families not check students out early following the picnic.
If your child does need to leave early for an appointment or other reason, please plan to follow our regular checkout procedure through the front office. With many families on campus that day, the checkout process may take additional time.
Thank you for helping us enjoy this special time together while keeping the rest of our school day focused on learning.
💙2026-2027 Volunteer Updates!
TB Test Clarification
New this year, all volunteers—both new and returning—must have the new TB Risk Assessment form completed and signed by a healthcare provider. Unfortunately, TB forms or test results submitted in previous years cannot be accepted in place of the new form.
If you have had a TB test within the last four years, you may bring documentation of that test along with the new TB Risk Assessment form to your healthcare provider for review and signature.
The required TB Risk Assessment form can be found using the button below.
Thank you for taking care of this important step so we can continue welcoming our wonderful volunteers to campus!
Mandated Reporter Training Clarification
As part of the volunteer application process, all parent volunteers must complete all three required trainings in the JPA Library.
After completing the trainings, please upload the required completion certificate to your volunteer application. Screenshots of the training will not be accepted in place of the certificate.
Completing all three trainings and uploading the correct certificate will help us process your volunteer application as quickly as possible.
Want to volunteer at Morning Creek this school year? We’re excited to welcome our Colt volunteers back! 💙
