Message from the Head of School Message from the Head of School

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week has most certainly been a week of immense pride. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to HPPA for organising such a wonderful firework display on our school field. A special thanks must also go to all our staff members who generously gave their time and support by assisting with ticket management, responding to queries, and helping to keep everyone safe throughout the event.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the wonderful comments written by parents and carers during parent consultations on Monday and Wednesday. Thank you to all those who attended.

Following parents consultations, I would encourage parents to complete the ‘Staff Appreciation form’ (see below) to highlight the fantastic work staff do across the partnership. Please remember that this is for all staff (teachers, LSAs, Admin, Premises). I will share these comments with staff early next week.

Staff Appreciation Form

Remembrance Parade

It was an honour to represent Hampton Primary Partnership at the annual Hampton Remembrance Parade. We were very privileged to have such fantastic ambassadors from Hampton Primary Partnership. A big thank you to our pupils: Kacey and Edward (HISN) and Mila and Alvaro (HJS) for walking in the parade and laying down our Hampton Schools wreath. They were a real credit to the school through being incredibly respectful and even keeping up with the marching! Thank you to all those in the local community who came out and supported us.

Scholastic Book Fayre Rewards

This year HPPA supported HPP with organising and running our ‘Scholastic Book Fayre’. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to purchase lots of exciting books. As a result of this, we made £519.63 to spend on rewards which will all be invested into children’s books at HISN. Mrs Clarkson (our reading lead) will be organising a range of books to be bought into the school and shared with each year group.

HPPA - Christmas Raffle

As part of our HPPA Christmas Fayre, we have our annual raffle whereby parents and carers can purchase their raffles on classlist. This year we have some wonderful prizes ranging from tickets for ‘Hobbledown’ in Epsom to afternoon tea at the ‘Wharf’! Please scroll down to see the flyer which contains all the information regarding prices and the 16 fabulous prizes.

Finally, thank you to Louise Allan and her team at HPPA for ensuring that we have so many fantastic events for our children, parents and local community as they raise a lot of money to invest in the school. Please click on the tab below to see Christmas events at HISN.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and we look forward to next week.

For Remembrance Day, the children made their own poppy using discarded plastic bottles, which they planted around an oak tree in the garden. The collective artwork was a visual representation of the school community coming together in remembrance, as well as recognizing the men and women who continue to serve in the Armed Forces today. In class the children honoured the two minute silence reflecting on the sacrifices made in history and the importance of showing kindness to each other.

Our brilliant fayre needs volunteers from across HPP to support. Please put your name down and fill the last gaps. We want to keep all year group stalls open for the duration of the event and currently have slots to fill in every year. If you can fill a different slot please go ahead and children are welcome to join you and help out. Thank you!

Year 2 Year 2

What a fantastic start to the new half term it has been! The children have settled back into school life brilliantly, and there are so many exciting learning opportunities and events ahead for Year 2.

In English, we have been exploring poetry and looking closely at poets such as Michael Rosen. The children also created their own wonderful acrostic firework poems, using amazing adjectives and creative ideas! We have now begun reading our new story “Poles Apart” by Jeanne Willis and Jarvis. The children have really enjoyed diving into the story and developing their comprehension skills to gain a deeper understanding of the characters and plot.

In Maths, we are continuing our journey through addition and subtraction, working on building confidence and fluency. Any extra practice at home is always very much appreciated and makes a real difference.

After a wonderful term of History, we will be consolidating our learning with an exciting Great Fire of London workshop next week! Meanwhile, we have begun our new Geography topic on Hot and Cold Places, where the children will be exploring different climates, their features, and their locations on a world map. This links beautifully to our Science topic, Animals Including Humans, where we are investigating animal life cycles and how different animals adapt to their environments.

Year 2 have also been part of our gorgeous poppy display outside school and have learned about the meaning behind Remembrance Day and why we wear poppies.

CHRISTMAS HAS STARTED! We are so excited for all the festive fun coming up. The children have begun preparing for our Christmas art projects, our trip to St. Michael’s Church on Thursday 4th December (details have been sent via the office for volunteers and timings), and of course, our Year 2 Christmas show — “Gnome Alone”! The children are already learning songs and lines, and any extra practice at home is a huge help.

Over the next two weeks, we will also be visiting the library, which is a wonderful opportunity for the children to get inspired by books and develop a love for reading. In DT, we will be completing a food technology project — creating some festive treats! Letters with more details and donation requests will be sent home next week.

It’s shaping up to be a very busy and joyful term in Year 2, and we’re so proud of how enthusiastic and hardworking the children have been. Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home.

Messages from the Office Messages from the Office

Year 1 Brooklands Museum Visit

As part of our History topic of ‘Travel and Transport’, Year 1 will be visiting Brooklands Museum on Friday 8th May 2026.

We rely on parental contributions in order to be able to run the wide variety of visits and workshops that the pupils at HPP enjoy and the contribution we are requesting on this occasion, for each pupil, is £26.50. This includes coach hire, entrance fee, and the ‘Concorde Experience’. Whilst payment of this trip is voluntary, if we do not receive sufficient contributions, we will cancel the visit and a full refund will be made.

In order to support families with making this payment we are offering payment instalments. You can make payments, via Arbor, as frequently as you wish between now and Friday 27th February 2026. If you feel that you are unable to make this contribution and require support with this visit, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting to speak to Mrs Gale, Head of School.

Toilet use after school

If your child needs to use the toilet after school, they can use the toilets in RK, these are well known to the children. All children are given the opportunity to visit the toilet before leaving for the day so please speak to your child about this if this is happening frequently. Children and parents must not enter the school building to find toilets. There is a toilet at HJS in the Music room which children are able to use.
