Dear Churchill Families,

As we wrap up the month of April, we’re excited to celebrate Day of the Child on Wednesday, April 30th! Students are invited to wear an outfit or colors that represent their heritage, ancestry, culture, or tradition—a wonderful opportunity to showcase the rich diversity of our community.

Looking ahead, our final STAR benchmark test will take place on May 6th and May 8th. Please help your student prepare by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on those days.

Our PBIS team is currently looking for volunteers to help fulfill Bone Store orders. If you’re available on Tuesday, May 6th between 9:00 AM and 11:45 AM, we’d be so grateful for your support. To volunteer, please reach out to Reilly Papp at reilly.papp@hsd153.org.

Lastly, please see the important information below regarding Talent Show registration and more exciting events.

Thank you for your continued support, and have a wonderful week ahead!

Warmly,
Mrs. Peacock

Dear Fifth Grade Families,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting event for our fifth graders as the school year draws to a close! On Tuesday June 3rd, we will be hosting an end-of-year celebration for our fifth graders to celebrate the achievements and growth of our students throughout their time at Churchill School.

To ensure that all students have the opportunity to attend and enjoy this special occasion, invitations will be based on student referral data. Students will earn points through positive referrals, demonstrating their commitment to showing Bulldog Best Behavior and contributing positively to our school community. Points will be deducted for office and classroom referrals that reflect behaviors that do not align with our school’s expectations. All students will start Monday, March 24th with 100 points. Positive referrals will earn students an additional 25 points while referrals that are earned due to physical altercation will deduct 30 points. Additionally, all other office (major) referrals will deduct 25 points and classroom (minor) referrals will deduct 10 points. To earn an invitation to the dance, students will need a total of 75 points.

Throughout the coming weeks, classroom teachers will maintain open communication with families regarding student’s behavior and progress toward earning their invitation to the dance. We encourage you to partner with us in motivating your child to exhibit their Bulldog Best Behavior in and out of the classroom. Together, we can create a supportive environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. We understand the importance of celebrating milestones and creating lasting memories for our students, and we are committed to ensuring that the end-of-the- year celebration is a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive event for all fifth graders.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Let’s make this end-of-school dance a memorable experience for our fifth graders!
