Empathy ~ the ability to be aware of, understand, and be sensitive to another person’s feelings. Instead of focusing on how these feelings impact us, empathy motivates us to focus on others and respond with care and compassion

The Yellowjacket Way The Yellowjacket Way

At Sheridan Middle School, we follow The Yellowjacket Way—our schoolwide behavior expectations that help students be successful in every setting. The Yellowjacket Way focuses on being Responsible, Respectful, and Ready at all times, whether in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, or on the bus. By practicing these expectations, our students build a positive learning environment where everyone can grow and succeed.

Dress Code Reminders Dress Code Reminders

We want all students to feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn. Parents and students share the responsibility for choosing school-appropriate attire. Clothing should not pose a safety risk, cause distractions, or disrupt the learning environment.

Please avoid wearing items such as: midriff-baring tops, shoulder straps less than 3 inches wide, short skirts/shorts (more than 4 inches above the knee), see-through garments, pajamas or lounge wear, visible undergarments, offensive or suggestive messages, sagging pants, or clothing with excessive rips above the knee. Headwear, hoods, sunglasses, and shoes with cleats or wheels are also not permitted.

For a full list of dress code guidelines, please refer to page 120 of the Student Handbook, available online for parent access. Thank you for helping us maintain a positive and distraction-free environment for all students.

September = Library Card Sign Up Month

September 1st will mark the start of Saline County Library's 9th Annual Library Card Sign Up Month partnership with local businesses to provide discounts at your favorite places by just showing your library card! This is a national award-winning campaign and this year they teamed up with other libraries to bring card holders exclusive discounts to over 250 places in central Arkansas. They will also have free events at the library as well as out in the community all month long.

Stop by one of the Saline County Library branches to sign up for a library card! Those that live in Grant, Malvern-Hot Spring, Dallas, and Cleveland counties can also get a Saline County Library card. Bonus - having your library card on the Mid-Ark Regional Library app also counts to get your discounts so it is always on your phone!

Don't miss out on all of these discounts this month! Sign up for a library card!
