Community Input Needed
South Callaway School District invites parents and community members to participate in our annual climate and culture survey, conducted in partnership with FiredUP Consulting Group. Your input provides valuable insight into our strengths and areas for improvement, helping guide the implementation of our district’s Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) and measure our progress. Thank you for sharing your perspective and supporting the continued growth of our schools.
Happenings Around the District
Early Childhood
The Early Childhood building is off to a great start this school year! Our students and staff are celebrating attendance successes through our H.E.R.O. initiative: Here, Everyday, Ready, On-time. Classrooms are working toward attendance rewards, celebrating perfect attendance streaks, and recognizing students who make being at school a priority. We are proud of our students’ accomplishments and continue to emphasize that every day in school matters. When students are here, they have more opportunities to learn, grow, build friendships, and succeed. Together, we are building a strong foundation for lifelong learning—one H.E.R.O. at a time!
Elementary
Wow, what an exciting start to the school year we have had. There are several highlights to the 1st quarter from registration days, open house, the first day of school and now here we are in October. The students have settled in and things are rolling. We are looking forward to many 2nd quarter celebrations.
10-Day Perfect Attendance Challenge: Each morning if EVERY student in class is present, the class earns one accessory to add to the Bulldog Potato. Once your class earns 10 perfect-attendance days we get to celebrate with a potato chip party!
Middle School
We are off to a fast and furious start! It is hard to believe that October 23rd marks the end of the 1st quarter and 25% of the school year is behind us.
Bradford Farms Visit – September 8th: MS Ag students traveled to Bradford Farm Research Center recently. They had the opportunity to experience a variety of agricultural industries. Ag topics included were Soil Conservation, Floral Design, MFA Incorporated, the College of Agriculture Food and Natural resources (MU), Dietetics, MUPD, Drone Imaging, and always the most popular, the Cannulated Cow.
High School
Service Day & Special Olympics: Each year the High School holds a service day for all HS Students. Service Day this year occurred Friday October 2nd. Students were assigned a location to serve in our community and the surrounding area. Service day each year is held in conjunction with our Special Olympics and Food For America events. In the afternoon, each grade level participates in a class activity. This is one of our favorite days in the year, and is always a great event for our students and our community. Thank you to all of those in our school and community who make this day possible.
