Fremont Intermediate School
New Family Registration
A Message From Mr. Ladenburger
I also want to share that we’ve updated the names of two Specials classes. Our Technology class is now called Skills for Success, and our MakerSpace class is now called STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
Student Pick-Up/Drop-Off
If you plan to pick up your child from school on a frequent basis please fill out this form. You will be given a sign, through your youngest child at school, that you will display in your car window. If you have completed the form prior to August 9th, we will have the sign available at Meet and Greet. Please refer to our Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for our specific guidelines.
Important Dates
- August 20 - Meet and Greet: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Students are invited to drop off supplies and meet their teacher (Click here for the school supply list). Students with last names beginning with A-L attend from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and M-Z attend from 2:00-3:00 p.m. You can stop by the Intermediate School Gymnasium starting at 12:30 to pick up bus tags and meet your child’s bus driver; set up and pay for lunch accounts at the Quest table, drop off health forms to Nurse Grace at the Nurse’s table; and visit host representatives from our PTO, Scouts, Public Library, and Right at School.
- August 21- First day of School:
- Intermediate school hours are 8:50 a.m. to 3:38 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Please keep in mind that doors open daily at 8:45 a.m. and students begin each day promptly at 8:50 a.m.
- Each Wednesday will be an early release day so that teachers and staff may participate in professional learning. Intermediate School students will be released at 3:08 p.m. each Wednesday.
- August 22 - PTO Back-to-School Bash: 5:30-7:30 p.m. More details to follow.
- September 4 - Curriculum Night: 6:30-7:30 p.m. More details to follow.
Potential Bus Drop-off Delays
Student Password Change
We want to inform you about an important update to student Chromebook passwords for the upcoming school year.
Beginning August 19, students will no longer have access to their Chromebooks using their current passwords. As part of a building wide update to improve security, each student will receive a new password based on the following format:
- Initials + Student Number + "." + Random Word
Students will receive their new passwords once school begins. Their classroom teacher will help them log in and get reconnected during the first days of school. If at anytime your child forgets their password, you can access their password by following the directions below.
- Log into TeacherEase
- Click on "Miscellaneous" at the top of your screen
- Click on "Locker/Lunch Pin"
- The password will be under the heading "Locker Num/Combo"
Thank you for your support as we work to ensure a safe and smooth start to the school year!
Curriculum Night
The Intermediate School curriculum night will be on Thursday, September 4. Each homeroom teacher will give two identical presentations. Each presentation will be the same so you only need to attend one of them. More details will be communicated after the start of the school year.
6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Presentation #1
7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Presentation #2
Medical Forms
Health information and medical forms are available on the FSD79 Health Services website page. Please drop off forms at your child’s school.
Kindergarteners must show proof of current physical/immunizations, as well as dental and eye exam forms.
Second graders must complete a dental examination prior to starting school.
Sixth graders must provide a dental examination form and a health examination form with proof of up-to-date immunizations.
Photo Opt-Out Form
Parents and guardians who DO NOT want their child’s photograph and/or student work published need to complete this form and return it to their school's front office within your student’s first 5 days of school attendance. A letter submitted from the previous year will not carry over.
Before and After School Care
FSD79 Family Handbook
As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, please take a moment to review the FSD79 Family Handbook, which outlines important school expectations, policies, and procedures to support your child’s success. We also encourage you to review the FSD79 Behavior Matrix, which details our behavioral expectations and the supports and consequences in place to help students succeed.
Attendance Matters
Attendance is crucial. Regular attendance fosters dependability, responsibility, and academic achievement. Students who attend
Consistently stay on track,
Engage fully with lessons,
Participate in discussions,
Collaborate with peers, and
Receive timely feedback from teachers.
This active participation improves understanding, retention, and overall performance. At FSD79, we prioritize attendance to create a supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed. Our goal is to support all students and ensure equitable access to education.
“Away for the Day” – Device Expectations
To support a learning-focused environment, we will continue our “Away for the Day” initiative in accordance with the Portable Electronic Equipment Policy (Board Policy 7:190).
Here are a few important reminders:
Cell phones must be turned off and kept in a Chromebook bag or sleeve during the school day.
Smartwatches should be in school mode and used only as a watch.
Devices are not permitted during class time, in hallways, bathrooms, lunch, or recess.
Students needing to contact a parent or guardian should use the main office phone.
Exceptions may be made if outlined in a student’s IEP or 504 Plan.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
School Lunch Accounts
Fremont utilizes Quest Food Management Services to provide lunch service for our students. For more information, including how to set up a lunch account for your student, please click here. Parents will need their student's Lunch PIN to set up a lunch account. This information can be found in TeacherEase by clicking on the Miscellaneous tab and then selecting Locker/Lunch PIN.
Please note that if you require lunch assistance through available programs, you must complete and submit the Free and Reduced Lunch Application found in the Miscellaneous tab of your TeacherEase portal. Contact Tony Smith, Food Service Director, at asmith@fsd79.org with any questions.
