Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Labor Day! I hope you have enjoyed the 3-day weekend with your family and friends.

I would like to congratulate our Hawks Cheer Squad and the Coaches Ms. Blanco and Ms. Lockhart for being invited to participate in the upcoming performance during the UTEP football game this Saturday, September 6. They are a great example of showing school spirit, leadership and determination. We know they will have a great first performance!

My recommendations or reminders for the safety of our students, families, faculty and staff:

1. Respect the parking lot directions, speed and flow.
2. Use the crosswalks.
3. Pets (dogs, cats, birds etc.) are not allowed in any school grounds.
4. During drop off or pick up, please ensure your child is ready to get off or board on your vehicle.
5. Students should be in line by 8:00 am and by 8:15 in the classrooms.
6. Visitors must show a valid ID to enter the building.
7. Students bringing a cell phone or any other device, must keep them off and can not use them during school hours.
8. Students must not be dropped off earlier than 7:30 am or left them outside in the front of the school unattended before 7:30 am.

I am pleased to announce that you may nominate your child/children for our GT program by submitting an online nomination before September 19, 2025. Please see the submission QR code and point of contact in the flyer below.

Our amazing PE Coaches are ready to welcome pre-registered students in grades 3, 4 or 5 for the upcoming First Intramural Soccer session. The session begins on Monday, September 8th for 3rd grade students and continues every Monday until October 6th. For students in grades 4th and 5th, the first meet will begin on Tuesday, September 9 and meets will continue every Tuesday and Thursday until October 2. Please see the calendar below.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 2nd, is the last day we will be selling tickets for our Grandparents' Day celebration which is scheduled for Friday, September 5th, from 7:30 to 8:00 am. Please see the flyer below.

Parent Teacher conferences are coming up on Tuesday, September 16 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm. Please connect with your teachers to secure a time slot. During this valuable time, you will learn about your child's math and reading skills and plans for interventions or enrichment activities. This is the time to compile your questions for teachers regarding classroom activities.

In support to our Parent High School- CORONADO, we will be joining their Homecoming Activities during the week of September 15 -19. We will have a spirit week with dress up days and will be participating in their parade on Wednesday, September 17 at 6:00 pm. If you or your child would like to participate, please see our Parent Liaison Nairobi Guillen for additional information.
