Update on Pennsylvania’s Cell Phone Law Update on Pennsylvania’s Cell Phone Law

This week, Governor Shapiro signed legislation establishing new statewide restrictions on student cell phone use in schools, beginning with the 2027-2028 school year.

We want our families and students to be aware of this change as we begin planning for the future. Over the coming months, we will review our current policies and practices to make sure we are fully compliant with the new law.

I recognize there will be questions about what this means for our students, families, staff, and schools. As we learn more and work through the details, we will take the time to understand the requirements and determine what changes may be needed in QCSD. We will keep our families informed and share updates as we have more information.

Proud to Be QCSD,

Dr. Lisa Hoffman
Superintendent of Schools

Senior Spotlight: Celebrating our Senior Athletes Senior Spotlight: Celebrating our Senior Athletes

On Tuesday, October 20, we celebrated our Class of 2027 Field Hockey Seniors. Our Lady Panthers entered Alumni Stadium in vibrant-colored shirts and were greeted with custom posters, hugs, and a few tears. This year, our field hockey team has dominated the field, ending its regular season with a 17-1 record.

Following the coaching pillars of “The Standard,” these athletes have grown above and beyond at every practice and every game. “The Standard” is a coaching practice that relies on six pillars:

  1. A Focus on Continuous Personal Growth—Past skills do not guarantee success.
  2. Person vs. Themselves Battle – Measuring performance against your own capabilities and potential.
  3. No Reliance on the Past – Always actively rise to the occasion; the past has zero weight.
  4. Zero Tolerance for Slacking
  5. Relentless Effort at practices and games.
  6. Team-First Alignment – Every action should directly benefit the team.

Due to this focus, this team has continued to raise expectations and create a field hockey program built on commitment, leadership, and heart. Congratulations to our amazing seniors:

Our seniors were welcomed onto the court by their families, who presented them with flowers and custom senior sashes as they took the court one last time.

We are so proud of these student-athletes and grateful for the dedication, teamwork, and Panther Pride they have brought to our volleyball program. Congratulations to our Lady Panthers:
