A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Hello, Fremont Families!
I hope many of you were able to enjoy our PTO Trunk or Treat event last weekend! There were so many creative trunk decorations, fantastic costumes, and smiling faces throughout our school parking lot. A huge thank you to our hardworking PTO members, staff and family participants, and parent volunteers who organized the festivities and dedicated their time to make the event such a memorable experience for our students.
Looking ahead to this week, Tuesday is Bus Driver Appreciation Day. Our bus drivers are out on the roads early every morning and late every afternoon, ensuring our students arrive at school and return home safely in all kinds of weather. Please remind your child to give their bus driver an extra joyful thank you on Tuesday to let them know how much we value their hard work and dedication.
Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school community such a positive place for our children to learn and grow. Have a great week!
Warmly,
Beth Carmody
Principal
Willie the Wildcat dropped by a few of our kindergarten classrooms to celebrate some serious PAWS-itive behavior! After earning over 40 class PAWS through hard work and dedication, these amazing students snapped a picture with Willie and scored a fun new school supply. We are so proud of our little Wildcats!

From Nurse Dana ...
We have recently seen a notable increase in illnesses across our classrooms. To help us keep our students and staff healthy and ensure our kids can stay in the classroom where they learn best, we kindly ask for your partnership in following our health guidelines:
The 24-Hour Rule: Please ensure your child is fever-free (without the use of fever-reducing medication) for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
Symptom Check: If your child is experiencing a persistent cough, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep them home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours.
Reporting: If your child is diagnosed with a contagious illness (such as the flu or strep throat), please notify the school office so we can monitor trends in specific classrooms.
We know that balancing work and childcare can be difficult when a little one is under the weather, but staying home now helps prevent a much larger spread later. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our school community safe!

Veterans' Assembly-November 10th
Fremont Elementary School will be having a Veterans Day assembly that includes songs, poems, and stories performed by students to honor those who are currently serving or have served in the military. It will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026 in the Elementary School Gym at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. You can click here to view our assembly schedule.

Parent University Virtual Presentation—RULER Framework—Nov. 11
Mark your calendars for November 11 as we invite all parents and guardians to join us for our upcoming virtual Parent University: Connecting RULER Social-Emotional Learning from School to Home, presented by Fremont staff.
Across all grade levels, our classrooms have been actively embedding the RULER framework (developed by the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence) into daily learning. During this virtual interactive session, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of our schoolwide RULER rollout and take home practical strategies to use the Mood Meter and Charter concepts within your family routine.
A Zoom link for the presentation will be shared with families closer to the date of the event.
Connected and Confident
Our classroom communities are in full swing! Predictable morning and sleep routines build confidence and ensure students feel secure in their physical and emotional space each day.
Instructional Days: Please reserve family travel for district breaks. Missing consecutive days can create learning gaps and cause unnecessary stress.
Health Check: Children must remain home until they are symptom/fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
We are always better together when every student is present to share in our classroom growth!
Excused Absences Include
- Illness (physical, mental or behavioral) Please note, after 3+ consecutive days of an illness related absence, a doctor's note is required on day 4 in order for the absence to be considered excused moving forward
- Medical/Therapeutic appointments
- Religious Holidays
- Family emergencies or civic events
- Parenting or safety-related concerns
Vacations
- Vacations during school are discouraged and count as unexcused absences.
We encourage you to keep your child IN SCHOOL before and after field trips and special events.
My Ride K-12 Bus Tracking App
The My Ride K-12 mobile app allows parents and guardians to stay connected with their student’s transportation schedule. Through the use of GPS technology, the app provides updates to the pick-up and drop-off times based on the bus location. To learn how to download the app, create your account, and link your student’s information, please visit our Transportation webpage.
Student Pick-Up/Drop Off
Aura Perez Cruces at aperezcruces@fsd79.org or 847-837-0437 no later than 2:45 p.m. *On Wednesdays, you must let us know by 2:15 p.m.
A friendly reminder about our drop-off and pick-up line ...
- Please stay in your car when dropping off or picking up your student(s).
- Please do not park in the parking lot and send your student(s) to the school. Stay in the drop-off line.
- Please pull all the way forward in line when dropping off and picking up. Students exit the car on the sidewalk only.
- If you arrive at school after 8:55 a.m., you must come into the school to sign your student in. Doors close at 8:55 a.m.
- We have observed that parents often leave approximately 3–4 feet between their vehicles. Please close those gaps, when safe to do so, so more vehicles can move through the line, reduce congestion on Fremont Center Road, and help buses reach their assigned spots more promptly.
- Please refer to our Pick-up and Drop-off Procedures for our specific guidelines.
