Leadership Letter
Dear Legacy Families,
What an amazing start to the school year! As we settle into our routines and continue building strong relationships, it has been wonderful to see our students growing in confidence, connecting with their teachers and classmates, and embracing the Legacy Way. We are grateful for the partnership of our families and for the energy and enthusiasm you bring to our school community.
We are especially excited to begin hosting our monthly assemblies that honor and celebrate our character traits. The first assembly honors those students who demonstrate EMPATHY.
Wildcat Rally & TWIX Assemblies
We will soon hold our first Wildcat Rally (previously R.O.A.R. assembly), a time for our elementary school community to come together, celebrate accomplishments, build school spirit, and recognize students with exemplary empathy. We will also celebrate students during our Middle School TWIX Assembly, highlighting those who demonstrate the character, choices, effort, and attitudes we want to see in our Wildcats. These gatherings are about more than recognition—they are opportunities to remind our students that their everyday choices matter and that we notice when they are doing great things!
The Pawsitivity Shop Opens Next Week!
The excitement continues next week with the opening of our Pawsitivity Shop! Students have been working hard to earn their Pawsitivity tickets by demonstrating positive behavior, making good choices, showing kindness, and contributing positively to our school community. Soon, they will have the opportunity to use those tickets at the Pawsitivity Shop. This is another fun way to reinforce the behaviors and character traits that help make Legacy such a special place.
As we move further into the school year, we encourage our families to ask their children about the ways they are showing "Pawsitivity" at school. A conversation at home about kindness, responsibility, perseverance, respect, or helping someone else reinforces the same messages we are sharing each day on campus.
Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being such an important part of our Legacy family. We are looking forward to a year filled with learning, growth, celebrations, and plenty of Wildcat Pawsitivity!
Have a blessed day!

Keep Those Used Uniforms!
Don’t toss those gently used uniforms when your student outgrows them. Please keep them until May, when we will start collecting them for the Used Uniform Sale. We don’t have the space to store them until May. Thank you for supporting the sale!
Waitlist for Future Wildcats
Please put your younger children on the waitlist as our waitlist is growing every day. Please ensure any siblings of Legacy Academy students are on our waitlist as soon as possible.
Dear Parents,
Welcome back to Legacy! This year we will be continuing the art & craft class called Art Squad that is designed specifically for our creative students in grades 2nd through 5th! This unique class will guide children in exploring the beauty and versatility of different materials — such as leaves, old papers, twigs, rocks, wood, tin, yarn, beads and more — as they create one-of-a-kind art pieces. Not only will this class foster creativity, but it will also help students connect with the natural world and learn how to use sustainable and recycled resources in fun, innovative ways.
Each week, students will have the opportunity to:
Work with natural, unique, new and recycled materials.
Learn techniques for crafting with textures, shapes, and colors found in nature and in everyday environments.
Create projects by developing problem-solving skills as they create their own unique works of art.
Improve their manual skills while having fun with their friends.
Please note that all materials and tools used will be safe and age-appropriate, and they will be provided during the class.
Please see the links below for registration and things to know for the 2026/2027 year. I look forward to inspiring a sense of belonging, a love for art, nature, crafts and creativity in each child, and I can’t wait to see the unique creations they’ll bring home!

Hearing and Vision Screening
On September 23rd and 24th, Legacy will conduct its annual Hearing and Vision Screening. Colorado State Statute C.R.S 22-1-116 requires testing the hearing and vision of all children in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grades. In addition, any new Legacy students, as well as SPED students, will be tested. Each school must record all vision and hearing screening results in the child’s record. We will notify parents if a deficiency is detected. Should your child not pass their initial screening, the screening will be repeated within one month to ensure that the child did not have an illness or other factor that affected their initial results.
After two attempts, children who do not pass their vision or hearing exam will receive a letter stating their results and a recommendation for further testing.
As parents or guardians, YOU DO have the option to opt-out of testing based on religious or personal objections. If you prefer your child not to be tested, please email me by Friday, September 18th at jenny.jobes@legacyk8.org stating that you do not want your child to receive testing. This notification must be submitted via email or a letter turned in to the office.
Teachers or parents with concerns may also request testing even if the child does not fall within the age requirements listed in the Colorado State Statute if there are concerns that there might be hearing or vision difficulties. This also must be submitted via email at jenny.jobes@legacyk8.org, or a letter turned into the office by September 18, 2026.
Please ensure that any glasses, contacts, or other needed supplies come to school with your child on Wednesday, September 23rd and Thursday, September 24th.
Additionally, thank you to the parents who signed up to help. Our volunteer positions are full for the screening.
