๐ This Week at a Glance
September Is Here, Bobcats! ๐๐
Weโre settling into the school year, and there is so much happening around BAS! Our students did a great job with MAP Testing last week. We did experience a few technical difficulties, so a few classes will be finishing their testing this week. Thank you to our students, teachers, and families for your patience and flexibility!
Weโre also excited to get our Hot Lunch program underway! ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ Parents, we would love your help! If youโre available to volunteer with Hot Lunch, be sure to check out the sign-up information in this weekโs Bulletin. Our volunteers make programs like this possible, and we appreciate you!
September brings plenty of activities, athletics, and special events, so keep an eye on the Bobcat Bulletin and our BAS School Calendar to stay up to date. View the BAS School Calendar
Thank you for another great week, BAS families. Letโs keep learning, growing, and cheering one another on! Go Bobcats!
โTrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.โ
โ Proverbs 3:5
As we settle into the school year, there will be great days, challenging days, and plenty of unexpected moments along the way! This week, letโs remind our Bobcats that no matter what comes their way, they can trust God to walk with them through it all. ๐๐พ

๐ Parent Partnership: Learning to Struggle
As parents, our instinct is to step in when our children struggleโbut now is a safe time for them to learn how to fail, problem-solve, and try again. A forgotten assignment, a disappointing grade, or a mistake can become an opportunity to build independence and resilience.
Our goal isn't to keep our children from falling down; it's to teach them how to get back up.
A few ways parents can help:
- Let small consequences happen. Forgot an assignment or something needed for school? Before rescuing, ask: โWhat can you do differently tomorrow?โ
- Ask before solving. Try: โWhat do you think your next step should be?โ
- Middle school parentsโencourage self-advocacy. If your student is frustrated about a grade in Jupiter, sit down together and say, โLet's message your teacher.โ Help your child write the message and ask the question themselves rather than contacting the teacher for them.
- Praise the comeback. Celebrate when your child corrects a mistake, asks for help, or tries againโnot just when they get it right the first time.
Let them struggle a little. Encourage them a lot.
And help them discover that they can do hard things.
And stay tuned! ๐ In upcoming Parent Partnership features, weโll be sharing tips directly from our BAS teachers on how you can best support your student at each age and grade level.
