🌷April Weekly Update
April 11, 2025
What's Happening This Week:
A note from Mr. Lee
📢 MSTEP Testing Begins – Let’s Show What Carter Can Do!
We are proud to share that we’ve completed the first big step toward our academic goals this year. As we continue to push forward, MSTEP testing is the next key milestone—and it’s one that involves every single student in our building.
Starting Monday, our 8th graders will lead the way with their Social Studies test. Other grade levels will follow according to our testing schedule. The rest of the testing schedule is:
April 16th/17th- 8th Science
April 21st-23rd- 7th ELA
April 28th-30th-6th ELA
May 7th/8th- 6th and 7th Grade Math
Here’s how you can help support your child during MSTEP testing:
✅ Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep before testing days
✅ Encourage a healthy breakfast each morning
✅ Ensure they arrive on time and ready to go
✅ Remind them to bring their wired headphones (no Bluetooth)
✅ Offer words of encouragement—mindset makes a difference!
These assessments help us understand how our students are progressing and allow us to celebrate growth. We’re confident our Carter Cougars will rise to the occasion and show just how strong our school truly is.
Thank you for your continued support—it takes a team, and we’re grateful you’re on ours!
Let’s do this,
Mr. Lee
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
I'd like to acknowledge our 8th grade students this week for their outstanding performance on Thursday's PSAT test. We had over 98% of our students show up for the test and our staff was universally impressed with the focused effort these students made. I am excited to get the test results back to see how we did. We have several other tests coming up over the next few weeks. Hopefully all of our students will offer their best efforts, as our 8th graders did this week. Also, next week Wednesday is our first track meet at Sterling Heights High School. Go Cougars!
