A WORD FROM PRINCIPAL HAYNES
Greetings Village Families,
Every day at school matters! Regular attendance helps students stay connected to learning, build strong habits, and achieve academic success. Our schoolwide attendance goal is 95%, and we need every Panther familyβs help reaching it.
Please remember that students earn 1 Panther Point for every day they are present, which they can use to shop at The Panther Den. Also, students who reach five (5) unexcused absences will receive an automatic notice through FOCUS, and parents will be asked to contact the school to discuss attendance concerns.
Congratulations to Kindergarten, our Average Daily Attendance Champion for September 14β18! Letβs continue working together to improve attendance across every grade level.
Every Day Counts. Every Day Matters.
Be Present. Be Proud. Be a Panther!
Please join your child's teacher's Class Dojo!! This is how you can stay in contact with what is going on in class. There is a page for the school and one for your child's class.
Wishing you an AMAZING and BLESSED week ahead!!

Volunteer at The Village
We can always use volunteers in different capacities at the school. In order to volunteer, you must complete a volunteer application. You can locate the application by clicking HERE and following the directions. We have field trips coming up soon and each grade level could use assistance. You can volunteer to assist ANY grade level if you are available. It takes a couple of weeks for the application to process so don't delay!!
GATE PROCEDURE
Elementary schools now only have one Campus Monitor. As a result, it will be necessary to close the gate periodically throughout the day. If you do come to the school and the gate is closed there is a sign on the fence that directs you to call the front office so that someone can come out to open the gate (754-322-8750).
Therefore, there will be a delay at times, so I encourage you to please do everything in your power to have your child arrive to school on time and to refrain from early pick up as much as possible. I regret any inconvenience that this may cause to our families, but please know and understand that the safety and security of our students and staff remain a top priority at The Village. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
DISMISSAL NEWS!!!
DISMISSAL REMINDERS/UPDATES!!
The Heat Index lately has been dangerously high. During dismissal, we are asking that if your child is at the walker gate, please pick them up promptly at 2pm to reduce their time in the heat as well as the staff that has to remain outside with them. For car riders: please have your tag displayed. If you have an orange tag, please put your child's name on it as well and quickly show it when you come around to the loading area. We need to move this link faster. Pull all the way forward whenever possible to allow us to load as many cars as possible!!
SEVERE WEATHER DISMISSAL
As we begin to experience thunderstorms, please be advised that we will NOT dismiss from the walker gate during severe weather. You MUST use the car line or wait until the car line has been dismissed and the rain has eased up. ALL dismissal will stop in the event of lightning. We cannot risk the lives of students or staff for a dismissal process when the weather is bad. Your understanding is expected and appreciated.

Download the Class Dojo app from the App Store or the Google Play store for the best experience. Otherwise notices go to your email.
CHANGES IN DISMISSAL
ALL CHANGES IN DISMISSAL MUST BE IN WRITING!!!
For your child's safety, we WILL NOT take any changes of dismissal over the phone at any time for any reason!! You MAY submit a change of dismissal by completing a Change of Dismissal form and sending to the Front Office or your child's teacher that morning.
No changes of dismissal will be accepted after 12 noon.
Change of Dismissal form is on school website on the right hand side: CLICK HERE
STUDENT UNIFORMS
Village Elementary is a mandatory unified dress code school. It is expected that all students are in uniform, Monday through Friday with the exception of designated school spirit days which will be announced ahead of time. The student dress code guidelines outlined in the Code of Student Conduct will be enforced.
Uniform tops may be: red, black, or white. Bottoms (long or short) may be: black or khaki. Girls may wear jumpers or skorts. No leggings or jeans.
IDENTIFICATION BADGES
All of our employees and students are required to wear identification badges at all times while on campus. When visitors are on campus, they are also required to wear some form of identification.
Students are responsible for keeping up with and taking care of their ID badges during the day. Lost or damaged ID badges will be replaced two (2) times at no cost to the parent. After that, a replacement ID badge will cost $3 to be replaced. It will be the parent's responsibility to pay the fee to replace the badge. If the fee is not paid, an obligation will be placed on the student's account. All parents will be provided with notification if an ID badge is lost or damaged.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS DRILLS
Emergency preparedness drills will continue to occur on a regular basis (fire and tornado drills). Additionally, we will be conducting Active Assailant Drills as a part of our emergency preparedness. Appropriate notice of the drills will be provided when necessary.
