Dear PME Families,

We are excited to share that Presidential Meadows Elementary has had a strong start to the new school year! From the very first day, our hallways have been filled with smiles, curiosity, and the joy of learning. Students are already engaging in meaningful classroom activities, building friendships, and establishing routines that will set the tone for a successful year ahead.

As a campus, we are committed to providing every child with a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment. This year will be filled with many opportunities for growth, celebration, and achievement, and we are eager to partner with you every step of the way.

Presidential Meadows Elementary

At PME, our front doors will open at 6:45am. Students who enter at this time will eat breakfast in the cafeteria and wait there until they are dismissed to the classroom. Breakfast will be served free to all students who want to eat each day. All students are expected to be in their classrooms by 7:15am when the tardy bell rings. Our instructional day begins at this time and it is very important that all students are in class and ready to learn by 7:15am. Students arriving at or after the 7:15am bell will be marked tardy. If your child arrives at school after 7:15am, you will be required to come into the building and sign your child in.

Parents, family members, and visitors will be permitted to enter the building up to our HUG ZONE. HUG ZONE is meant to be a place where families will say their goodbyes. HUG ZONE is in the front foyer.

Car riders: Cars line up in front of the school in a single file line along the circle drive of the front of the school. Car riders may be dropped off in the front of the building no earlier than 6:45am. Please know this is in the best interest of student and staff safety. We ask for your cooperation in these procedures. PME’s front parking lot will be closed, parents should pull up to the front entrance of the school using the circle drive, and remain in the car for drop off. Please be mindful of your speed, especially after you have unloaded your child.

• If you wish to walk your child up to the HUG ZONE, please park in the bigger parking lot.

• If you walk your child to school from the neighborhood, you may do so USING THE CROSSWALKS.

• For the safety of our students we ask that families NOT park and/or drop off along George Bush St, as it is a VERY HIGH traffic area.

We will all work together to increase the speed and efficiency of our arrival procedures, but we ask for your full cooperation and patience. These procedures have been established to ensure your child’s safety.

Car riders: Cars line up in front of the school in a single file line along the circle drive of the front of the school. All cars in line for pickup must have a car rider tag visible to the staff on duty in the pick-up line. Please place them on your dashboard or attach them to your car visor. Anyone without a car rider tag must park in the parking lot and bring identification to the front office to get their child. Staff members will be outside to help students get into vehicles safely.

REMINDER: These procedures have been established to ensure your child’s safety.

We ask that you follow our ARRIVAL safety procedures for our DISMISSAL.

If you prefer to walk from the neighborhood to pick up your child from school, we ask that you please bring your car rider tag. If you do not have your car rider tag, you will be asked to wait and present a photo ID. Please understand that this will require us to verify your identity and extend the time it takes at pickup. A PME staff member will take all students who walk home first to the parking lot side of the crosswalk, where you will receive them. For safety purposes, you will need to wait at the crosswalk, as we will walk your student to you. Students who walk home independently will then be walked to the edge of the PME property by our marquee by a staff member.

We will all work together to increase the speed and efficiency of our check in procedures, but we ask for your full cooperation and patience. Please note that parking is limited and tends to fill up quickly. We recommend arriving early to ensure you have enough time to park and get checking in.

• ALL Grandparents/visitors are required to bring their IDs to check in into the office.
• Grandparents will be asked to begin checking in in the office at least 30 minutes before their assigned lunchtime. ⏰
• The checking in link will be sent to families that morning to relieve some of the office traffic. It is highly encouraged to sign in before hand. On-site check in may take longer than pre-check in.
• Lunch time is assigned to a fixed 30-minute schedule. Check lunch schedule 👈.
• Lunch will not be extended for late arrivals.
• Grandparents will head to the cafeteria to join their grandchild at assigned seating area.
• Grandparents needing to purchase a $5 meal from the cafeteria can do so at the entrance of cafeteria. Cash or check only.
• Outside food is welcomed.
• We ask that parents update their approved contacts to sign students out early in Skyward Family Access.
• Only approved contacts will sign students out early in the office, and exit the front entrance ONLY.
• PTA will have a photo opportunity for families for $5 a picture. 📸
