Giesinger Family, Giesinger Family,

We hope you had a fun and restful summer! We’re excited to welcome you and your child back to Giesinger Elementary for another great school year.

Our amazing staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms and refining curriculum focused on creating a learning environment that supports every student and promotes growth in all areas.

This newsletter includes key updates and reminders to help you get ready for the year ahead.

First Day of School- Our first day of school is August 13, 2025. Our instructional day begins at 7:55 am.

School Hours- Our school hours are from 7:55 am to 3:10 pm. It is important that students arrive on time and are picked up promptly at the end of the day. We will be flexible the first few days of school, however students will be counted tardy after 7:55 am.

Safety Protocols-Student and staff safety is our top priority. Parents may walk their child to class during the first three days of school. Starting August 18th, students will walk to class on their own. After that, all visitors must check in at the front office with a valid ID and wear a visitor pass to enter beyond the lobby.

Meet the Teacher- Meet the Teacher will be Friday, August 8th from 4:00-6:00. This is a come & go event. More information is below.

Open House- We will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, September 4th. We will offer two sessions for parents. Session 1 will be 5:00-5:45, Session 2 will be 5:45-6:30. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your child’s teachers and learn more about what we have planned for the year.

Communication- Clear communication between home and school is essential to student success. Please make sure your contact information is up to date so you don’t miss important updates.

CISD’s Parent Portal gives you access to grades, attendance, report cards, and more. Visit the CISD website under the “Parents & Students” section to create or log in to your account.

You’ll soon receive an email invitation to join Thrillshare/Rooms—our new platform for teacher communication. Rooms will make it easier to stay connected with your child’s classroom through messages and announcements.

Be on the lookout for our weekly newsletter once school begins, sent via text and email every Sunday around noon. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook for photos, news, and more throughout the year!

We look forward to welcoming your child back to school and to an exciting year ahead.

Online Verification Online Verification

Online verification of student registration for the upcoming school year is now available. Information was sent via email. This process replaces the paper forms sent home at the beginning of each school year.

The email contains a unique link that will take families to each child's verification of student registration for the 2024-2025 school year.

In order to help place your child in a classroom, this information is needed to help us plan our school year, please check your email and complete the information as soon as possible.

Contact the front office if you are needing your Snapcode (unique link ID that is personalized for your child.)

CISD Parent Portal CISD Parent Portal

In an effort to help our parents, we are moving to a Parent Portal for parents to access information about their child. You will login similar to the way your child does for school (similar to the SSO) to access school information. All parents/guardians will need to enroll to create an account. You will need the email address that is in your child’s record. Once you enter the email, you will be prompted to create a password.

Please click Parent Portal Directions to for instructions or go to Conroe ISD Webpage then Parents/Students to access the link to the Parent Portal.

Student Dress Code Student Dress Code

As you are planning your back to school shopping, please read our dress code that will be shared in our school handbook to help make decisions about clothing items.

Write your child's name on ALL personal items that could potentially be lost (lunch kits, water bottles, jackets, hoodies, sweaters, etc.) When items become lost (and they do) we make every effort to return them to the children and having names is the only way to do this.

Students should come to school dressed in a way that is safe, comfortable, and appropriate for learning and play. Our dress code supports a positive, distraction-free environment and encourages good hygiene. If concerns arise, we will work with families to find a respectful solution.

• Clothing with pictures, symbols, or words that are violent, inappropriate, offensive, or suggestive in nature are not allowed. This includes anything that promotes tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or other harmful substances.

• Halter tops, muscle shirts, and spaghetti straps may only be worn if covered by another shirt. Shirts that show the midsection or stomach are not allowed.

• Pants and shorts must be worn at the waist and should not reveal undergarments.

• Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be fingertip length or longer when arms are resting at the sides.

• Flip-flops are not allowed during PE. Tennis shoes need to be worn on PE days (students attend PE every other day).

• Shorts may be worn under dresses for added comfort and coverage.

• Fridays are Spirit Days—students and staff are encouraged to wear Giesinger or CHS Feeder zone shirts to show school pride!

If a student’s grooming or clothing does not meet the dress code, parents will be contacted. The student will have a chance to correct the issue at school and return to class. If the issue cannot be resolved at school, staff will work with the student and parent to find a solution that limits any disruption to learning time.
