Golf is in FULL SWING!

On the golf front things are looking good in Coyote Country as the boys have been busy! Things kicked off Monday August 7th with a 5th place finish out of 21 teams at the Spartan Invite. Shout out to Jack Killian who placed 2nd overall and played solid golf all day long. Tuesday the 8th we had four pairings in the Eagle Classic, Justin Myers & Jack Killian finished 4th out of 60 plus teams, with our other groups gaining some useful experience. Things really got going Wednesday (8.9.23) at the Loveland Invite where the collective of Talan Gover, Ryan Beals, Jackson Harberts, and Cameron Nicholson put together a great team showing placing 1st out of 23 teams (individually Talan & Jackson finished T2 and Ryan & Cam finished T6). Thursday the 10th that same squad turned it up a notch (going back to back) running away from the field (23 other schools) winning by 12 strokes at Eaton Country Club. Talan finished 1st overall shooting a 4 under 67, Cameron also got in red numbers at 2 under finishing T2, followed by Jackson T4 and Ryan in 8th. We wrapped it all up Thursday afternoon at Riverdale with 2 teams competing in a 4 person scramble. The White Team (Zach Feltman, Justin Myers, Arjun Dhanoa, & Benji Wright) came in second at 10 under losing by a stroke to Erie. The Black Team (Cole Gilmore, Rhys Ayendele, Dobi Argirov, & Jake Bradley) also repped the Yotes well with a solid 5 under performance (props go out to Dobi and Rhys for two impressive hole outs, both for eagle).

The boys kicked off league play on Monday August 14th at Flatirons with a solid 2nd place (team) showing (leaving them 7 strokes back of league leader Fossil Ridge). Talan Gover thanks in part to a four hole birdie streak shot a -1 (69) to finish first overall (individual), already picking up where he left off last season leading the way in the FRL! Cameron Nicholoson put together great effort as he grinded through an up and down round and finished +2 (72) tied for 5th. All in all the Coyotes with 7 players breaking 80 at a challenging golf course. League play will continue this week with a trip to Fort Collins as Fossil Ridge hosts at Collindale GC.

  • GRANTS: Last year we provided $17,000 (17 x $1000 grants) to clubs/sports to purchase needed equipment. Some examples include materials for a wind tunnel for the Aviation Club, new instruments for Indoor Percussion, a shade tent for Tennis, rangefinders for Golf, and a record board for Basketball.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: Last year we provided $10,000 (10 x $1000) in scholarships to graduating seniors who took an active role in a club/activity.
  • COMMUNITY EVENTS: We host tailgates to build community and support for our students.
  • SPIRIT WEAR: We sell Monarch Spirit Wear at The Cave so we can all represent! The Cave is generally open on Fridays from 11:30-1. You can also purchase spirit wear here: https://monarchboosterclub.square.site/shop/4
  • RECOGNITION: We send a weekly newsletter to recognize our students and their accomplishments.
  • BOOSTER BASH: We host an annual fundraiser/party/community event to have fun, build community, and raise money to continue supporting our students. Last year we raised well over $50,000 and we're excited to partner with the school to put that money to use this year!

Want to Get Involved?

Got FOMO?? The Booster Club is run by a FUN group of volunteers who are passionate about helping to create an amazing high school experience for our students! We love and need volunteers to pull it off.

Opportunities:

  • Parent Reps - We need parent liaisons for every club/activity to help communicate between the Booster Club and the team participants...if you want to read about your team/club's accomplishments in the weekly newsletter, we need a parent rep to help! Less than 1 hour per week during your club/activity season.
  • Newsletter - Compile the weekly updates from the Parent Reps of the clubs/activities and coordinate with the Monarch admin team to get it sent out. Attention to detail and strong grammatical skills a +! 1-2 hours per week commitment.
  • Tailgate Coordinator - Partner with the parent reps for each "season" to schedule and coordinate a tailgate/community building activity where the Booster Club provides the food....ie, we'll host at least one Fall tailgate in conjunction with a home football game and then we partner as requested with clubs/sports to host additional tailgates. 5-10 hours per tailgate.
  • Webmaster - Can you help us freshen up the look of our Google site?? This is probably a couple hours for the refresh and then periodic updates - easy!

Monthly Meetings📆

  • September 13 - Meet MoHi's new Principal, Greg Doan
  • October 11
