Hello ÉRE Families!

We are now into the final third of the school year! The final third typically goes fast with the return of longer days and special events like Year-End Field Trips. It is shaping up be a great finish to a fantastic school year.

Some recent highlights:

  • Parent/Teacher Interviews - We were thrilled to have over 140 interviews booked during the March 17-20 Interview nights. Thank you also to Mrs. Franklin for running Book Fair and School Council offering free hot dogs on the March 19 & 20 nights.
  • Family Spring Dance - School Council did a great job organizing the Family Dance on April 4. It was fantastic to see representation from every demographic of our school and a great reminder of how our school operates like a community that looks out for each other.
  • Congratulations to our Indigenous Education Teacher Crystal Clark! She was recently recognized with an Distinguised Alumni Award from the University of Victoria! Mrs. Clark is a talented artist with several large commisions in addition to her work within Wild Rose School Divison. Way to go Mrs. Clark!
  • French classes at the Movie Theatre - Thanks to a generous donation from the Canadian Parents for French (CPF), our French classes were invited to the movie theatre on April 16 to view Katak: le brave beluga

If you have time, we sure would like to see you:

  • Mrs. Carbino's Grade 4/5 Basketball Club has challenged the staff to a Basketball Game, Thursday, April 24, 2:45 - 3:15 PM. The gym is sure to be filled with a lot of spirit cheering on the fun game. (Also, maybe bring ice packs for the staff after the game :)
  • Our April Assembly on Monday, April 28, 2 pm will feature April Award winners and student presentations
  • Wild Rose School Division Indigenous Spring Gathering - Celebrate the longer days and the return of sunshine with the Indigenous Education Team at the Spring Gathering, May 1, 5-7 PM at West Central High School! Join us for good food, fun activities, and a chance to win prizes! This is a time to come together, connect, and enjoy the season in a welcoming and joyful space. RSVP so that food can be provided.
  • French Evening of Entertainment, May 22 - Our French Immersion classes are invited to show off their new language skills at this special event hosted by the Canadian Parents for French (CPF) at the Lou Soppit Centre. Along with the student entertainment from each Immersion class, there will be a BBQ starting at 5 pm.

Wishing everyone a fabulous EASTER Weekend!

With gratitude!

We have the best parents! We have the best parents!

Just a few reasons why our parents are the best:

  • A Kindergarten parent made a fantastic presentation at the School Council meeting with ideas for revitalizing our Peace Garden
  • A Grade 5 parent organized the Lost & Found into items we could wash up and reuse at the school and items we could donate to Next-To-New
  • An Ukrainian family living in France reached out about relocating to Rocky Mountain House. One of our parents that speaks Ukrainian reached out to them to answer all their questions.
  • School Council hosted a wonderful Family Dance that brought together families from across the school
  • A Kindergarten parent and a parent of a Grade 1 & 3 student came to our PreK/Kindergarten Open House night to help answer questions about the school
