Back-to-School Edition
LISD Families,
It is almost time for the 2025-26 school year to begin, and I am so excited to welcome all students and staff back very soon! From welcoming the Class of 2026 to the incoming PreK students who are the Class of 2039 – we are excited for a great school year ahead! This email provides you with important resources designed to help your family prepare for Aug. 12 and beyond.
Lewisville ISD is a special place because of the communities we serve, the academic and extracurricular opportunities we provide, and our staff who ensure our students have the opportunities to learn and grow each day.
No matter which of our five feeder patterns your family belongs to – Flower Mound Jaguars, Hebron Hawks, Lewisville Farmers, Marcus Marauders, or The Colony Cougars - Lewisville ISD is not just a choice, but is the One Choice for education in our community.
If you have not yet downloaded the LISD App, I encourage you to do so as it is an easy way to access updates and information all year long. I’ll continue to keep you updated throughout the year through my monthly RAPPort newsletter. We know that families today have more choices than ever when it comes to how and where their children learn. Thank you for making LISD your One Choice.
We can’t wait to welcome you back on Aug. 12!
Dr. Lori Rapp, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Personal Communication Devices (Cell Phone Policy)
Parent Notes
For this coming school year, there will be 5 absences allowed with a parent note for any reason. For pre-planned trips or outside school activity absences, parents will have 5 additional absences and will need to complete a pre-planned absence form. As an important reminder, absences with a doctor’s note, received within three days, are excused and do not count towards the parent note or pre-planned absence count. For more information and to access the pre-planned absence form, visit our WEBSITE.
Clear Bag Policy (Athletic Venues Only)
Starting for the 2025-26 athletics season, fans attending events in LISD stadiums and arenas will be required to use clear bags for personal belongings. All bags are subject to inspection prior to entry regardless of size or type. Details
Meal Price Changes
Breakfast and lunch prices will increase by $0.30 for the 2025-26 school year. These adjustments help ensure compliance with USDA requirements and reflect the district’s efforts to maintain high-quality, sustainable meal services. All students that qualify as receiving reduced price meals at the previous price of $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch will now get all breakfast and lunch meals for FREE at all LISD campuses for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. Find out if you are eligible and apply HERE.
Transportation Services
Lewisville ISD will take over transportation operations for the district for the 2025-26 school year. Watch the video for details on what to expect from LISD's transportation services this school year. Visit LISD.net/transportation for details, including the Here Comes the Bus app and bus locator.
Attendance
Every day counts: Be Present for the Future
A new school year means new opportunities—and it all starts with showing up. Whether it’s learning to read, mastering math, or building friendships, success happens one day at a time. Strong attendance builds strong habits. Every class counts, and every day your child is in school sets the stage for tomorrow’s achievements. Let’s make this year the one where we all show up—ready to learn, ready to grow, and ready to succeed. Together, we can help every student build momentum for the future. For details, click HERE.
Be present. Be prepared. Be #PresentForTheFuture.
Safety & Security Updates
Weapon Detection Scanners
As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe and secure learning environment, weapon detection scanners will be implemented at high schools for the 2025-26 school year. We are grateful to our voters who made this possible through the support of the 2023 Bond referendum. WATCH the video below for a look at the scanners. Visit LISD.net/safety for additional details.
STOPit App | Tip Line
As a reminder, the LISD community now has access to STOPit, an anonymous reporting system that allows individuals to submit concerns at any time, from anywhere. Visit LISD.net/safety for more information about this resource and how to access it. The tip line reopens for the school year on Monday, Aug. 11.
Emergency Communication
In LISD, we utilize the Standard Response Protocol, or SRP, which refers to five specific actions in the event of an emergency: Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter and Hold. In the event of an emergency you will receive immediate notification in the LISD app, email, and/or phone call from your child’s campus and the school district. Read more about LISD’s emergency communication practices.
Technology Updates
Repair District Devices
The LISD Technology Repair Center is open through through Aug. 7 by appointment only. Any damaged or broken LISD device can be dropped off at the center for repairs. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and are limited daily. To schedule an appointment, please call the helpdesk at (972) 350-1833 and choose option 3.
LISD App Store
Beginning this fall, LISD will convert 9th grade student access from the Apple App Store to a district in-house managed App Store, similar to the elementary and middle school student experience. In addition, LISD students will only be able to access web-based games on district iPads if the games are educational and approved through our web filtering system. The LISD-managed app store will ensure students have access to applications that align with the LISD curriculum.
