In a survey that was previously sent, parents/guardians were asked to indicate if their student would need a chromebook in the instance of a Virtual Inclement Weather day. Before RSHS can distribute a chromebook to a student, a signed Student Chromebook Agreement form has to be signed and returned. Last week, students whose parents/guardians indicated they would need to borrow a Chromebook were given a loan agreement to take home for a signature. In case your student didn't get one, or no longer has a copy, there is a link below to the agreement. Signed agreements can be returned to the main office.

Student Chromebook Agreement

The Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) is now accepting applications for students for the summer STEM program (GEMS). The Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) GEMS 2022 program is a collaborative effort offered by the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command’s (DEVCOM) Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (MRICD). Programs are designed to excite students in STEM and to encourage their pursuit of higher STEM education and careers. Due to COVID-19 all programs will be delivered virtually. Students must have access to a computer to participate.

Various scholarships for college bound seniors can be found on the Rising Sun High School Website by going to Guidance, then Scholarship information, then list of available scholarships. Available scholarships can also be found directly by going to https://www.ccps.org/Page/3938.

Spring sports will start on March 1st. If a student has not played a sport this school year, they will to have a completed physical packet and a COVID clearance form in order to try out and participate in a spring sport.

While your child is in quarantine, there are multiple ways for your child to participate in their learning.

• If your child is ill and not able to participate in learning activities, they will have an excused absence from school and be able to make up their work in all content areas.

• If your child is well enough to participate in learning activities from home they will be marked present IF they access their learning activities.

• Students log into their Schoology classroom to access learning activities.

• Students access virtual learning support

• Secondary students may access a support during Twilight using the following link: https://ccps-org.zoom.us/j/91018191631

• Virtual Twilight closes each day if no students have logged in after 15 minutes from the start time of Twilight School.

• Students complete any work that the teachers provide to them in paper form.

School counselors are also available to support students with their needs.
