Bauer Bits

As I was reading this week I came across the following:

“I have four very simple tenets that I operate by and four tenets that I try and operate our company by… Love of oneself, love of what you do, love of who you do it with, and love of who you do it for.” — Richard Taylor

What a great "north star" to guide us in our lives.

If your child is going to have a change in transportation home at the end of the school day, please contact the main office to let them know of the change prior to 3:00 p.m. (11:45 a.m. on early release days). We want to ensure that the classroom teachers are notified in a timely fashion prior to end of day dismissal procedures.

Math At Home is published through the Math Learning Center who publishes Bridges. Students can select the grade and topic set and it will give a menu of different activities, games, and situations they can work together with you at home!

In order for your child to take any medication (prescription and non-prescription) at school, a MEDICATION FORM is required. If your child requires a prescription medication (ex. asthma inhaler, EPI pen, insulin, etc.), your physician must complete a portion of the form. The medication forms are available online or in the school office. All medication must be in the original container. ALL medication must be delivered to the office by a parent/guardian. Medication cannot be sent to school with a student.

Free at home COVID tests are available in the office.

The HPS criminal background check is required for all school volunteers. In order to complete this request, we ask that you fill out this volunteer form at least 48 business hours prior to volunteering. Once your request is submitted, all Volunteer status updates (Approval, Denial or Limited Access Approval) will be sent directly to the building you have selected to volunteer in. You only need to complete the form once a school year!!

The Hudsonville Public School District has the right to approve or deny your request if your background check does not meet the standards of HPS Board Policy.

If you have any questions regarding the Volunteer Background Check process, please contact our Human Resources Department at 616-669-1740 or by emailing our office at eagles@hpseagles.net.

Below is a one page document that the HPS nurses created to help understand when to keep your child home sick from school. Please let us know if you have any questions.
