It was a special, joyful week at Cornwall School! Spirit Week brought out sometimes silly creativity and of course school spirit! On Wednesday we skied and skied and skied in glorious sunshine and then shared hot chocolate in the barn. Today we were treated to a musical performance from a Vermont Symphony Orchestra brass trio. Afterwards, the performers explicitly thanked me for the respectful, warm participation and welcome of our student audience. I could not be more proud, or more grateful, to belong to this community.
We do not have school next week. We return to school on Monday, March 2.

Look for a free student pass to Rikert that went home today! Students get a free day pass and free rentals and accompanying adults get 1/2 off everything. Our students really know how to ski!
Fourth graders have been conducting experiments this week, including a hurricane simulation. They designed a structure that had to withstand an inch of water and a large fan on high (simulating high hurricane winds). During Class Buddies time, fourth graders and their second grade buddies had 20 minutes to build the tallest structure that stands on its own using newspaper and tape. On Wednesday, they had their final day of cross country skiing at Rikert. After a foggy morning start it cleared up and they enjoyed the afternoon!

How to:
Select an eligible after school activity for their child (this can be an activity from fall 2025)
Obtain a receipt or invoice from the activity provider that includes provider/organization name, provider address, provider tax ID number (EIN), student’s name, activity name and dates (or session), and amount paid.
This after school event is eligible for the after school scholarship, families are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity!

Laundry!
We have two bags of unclaimed lost and found items. They need to be washed, dried, sorted (single mittens go in clothes recycling), and then anything donatable should go to the place of your choice. We try not to keep too much "stuff" at our building, so if laundry and donating is your jam, this is the volunteer job for you!
