Langley Lobos Update

Hooray for September, families!

We have officially made it through our first month of school! 🎉 It has been wonderful to see our students settling into their classrooms and getting into the routines and procedures of the school day. Our youngest Lobos have been making amazing gains every day as they learn what it means to be a Lobo and become more comfortable with their new routines. We are so proud of them!

We continue to grow as a campus and are registering new students almost every day. As our enrollment continues to increase, please know that the district is continuously monitoring our numbers and could make the decision to add additional teachers throughout the school year. This is one of the challenges that comes with being a larger campus in a growing area, but there is a wonderful benefit when we are able to add a teacher — smaller class sizes! This is a win for both our students and our teachers and we are excited about the continued growth of our Langley family.

Next week, progress reports will be posted in HAC on Thursday, September 10th. Please take a few minutes to log in and review your student's progress so far this year. This is a great opportunity to celebrate their successes and see where they may need additional support.

Teachers will also begin reaching out to families over the next couple of weeks to schedule Beginning-of-Year (BOY) Conferences. BOY conferences are scheduled for all students and are an important opportunity for parents and teachers to connect, discuss your student's current academic levels and establish goals for the school year. We look forward to partnering with you to make this a successful year for your child!

We do not have school on Monday in observance of Labor Day. I hope you enjoy the long weekend with your families and take some time to relax and recharge. We have a busy and exciting September ahead!

¡Oficialmente hemos completado nuestro primer mes de clases! 🎉 Ha sido maravilloso ver a nuestros estudiantes adaptándose a sus salones y aprendiendo las rutinas y procedimientos del día escolar. Nuestros Lobitos más pequeños han logrado grandes avances cada día mientras aprenden lo que significa ser estudiante y se sienten más cómodos con sus nuevas rutinas. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de ellos!

Continuamos creciendo como escuela y estamos inscribiendo nuevos estudiantes casi todos los días. A medida que nuestra matrícula continúa aumentando, quiero que sepan que el distrito está monitoreando continuamente nuestros números y podría tomar la decisión de agregar maestros adicionales durante el año escolar. Este es uno de los retos que vienen con ser una escuela más grande en un área que está creciendo, pero hay un beneficio maravilloso cuando podemos agregar un maestro: ¡grupos más pequeños! Esto es beneficioso tanto para nuestros estudiantes como para nuestros maestros y estamos muy emocionados por el crecimiento continuo de nuestra familia de Langley.

La próxima semana, los informes de progreso estarán disponibles en HAC el jueves 10 de septiembre. Por favor, tómense unos minutos para ingresar a HAC y revisar el progreso de su estudiante durante estas primeras semanas del año escolar. Esta es una excelente oportunidad para celebrar sus logros y ver en qué áreas podrían necesitar apoyo adicional.

Durante las próximas semanas, los maestros también comenzarán a comunicarse con las familias para programar las Conferencias de Inicio del Año Escolar (BOY). Estas conferencias están programadas para todos los estudiantes y son una oportunidad importante para que los padres y maestros se conecten, hablen sobre el nivel académico actual de su estudiante y establezcan metas para el año escolar. ¡Esperamos trabajar juntos para que este sea un año exitoso para su hijo(a)!

El lunes 7 de septiembre no tendremos clases debido al Día del Trabajo (Labor Day). Espero que disfruten de este fin de semana largo en familia y tengan la oportunidad de descansar y recargar energías. ¡Tenemos un mes de septiembre muy ocupado y emocionante por delante!

We are excited to invite our grandparents to join us for our Grandparents Picnic Breakfast on Monday, September 14th and Tuesday, September 15th!

This will be a casual outdoor breakfast where grandparents can spend some special time with their grandchild before school. Families will bring their own breakfast and lawn chairs and enjoy breakfast together on our outdoor playground.

To help us manage the number of visitors each morning, we are dividing the event by last name:

Monday, September 14th: Last names A–M
Tuesday, September 15th: Last names N–Z

Time: 7:15–7:45 AM
Location: Langley Elementary Outdoor Playground

A few important things to know:

• Grandparents and family members should bring their own breakfast to enjoy with their grandchild.
• Please bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.
• This is a casual outdoor event, so come ready to enjoy some breakfast and special time together!

• At 7:45 AM, grandparents will walk their student to the classroom before exiting the building. Students will then begin their regular school day.

We can't wait to welcome our Langley grandparents to campus and give them an opportunity to make some special memories with our Lobos! 💙💚

Estamos muy emocionados de invitar a nuestros abuelos a acompañarnos en nuestro Desayuno-Picnic para los Abuelos el lunes 14 y martes 15 de septiembre.

Este será un desayuno informal al aire libre donde los abuelos podrán disfrutar de un momento especial con sus nietos antes de comenzar el día escolar. Cada familia traerá su propio desayuno y sillas para disfrutar juntos en nuestro patio de juegos al aire libre.

Para ayudarnos a manejar la cantidad de visitantes cada mañana, hemos dividido el evento de acuerdo con la primera letra del apellido:

Lunes 14 de septiembre: Apellidos A–M
Martes 15 de septiembre: Apellidos N–Z

Hora: 7:15–7:45 a. m.
Lugar: Patio de juegos al aire libre de Langley Elementary

Algunos detalles importantes:

• Los abuelos y familiares deberán traer su propio desayuno para disfrutar con su nieto(a).
• Por favor, traigan una silla de jardín o una manta para sentarse.
• Este es un evento informal al aire libre, ¡así que vengan preparados para disfrutar de un desayuno y pasar un momento especial juntos!
• A las 7:45 a. m., los abuelos acompañarán a su estudiante hasta su salón de clases y después saldrán del edificio. Los estudiantes comenzarán su día escolar regular en ese momento.

Alternative forms of payment, including cash and checks, can be made at your child's cafeteria during operational hours without any additional fees.

Texas law requires all public school children to have current immunizations to attend class. Northside ISD encourages parents to have their children immunized before the first day of school.

The University Health System offers a convenient way for parents to stay up-to-date with their child’s immunizations. Flyer with info attached.
