Corron Mission Statement

Corron is a safe, warm and inviting community where all are valued and empowered. We celebrate growth. Clear evidence highlights the impact we have academically, socially and emotionally.

From the Principal From the Principal

It’s that time of year again when we start to plan for the next school year. We consider our parents an important part of this process. Since every learner is unique, our goal is to pair each student with an environment that maximizes his or her potential. Therefore, balancing classrooms based on student needs or talents, learning styles, and personalities are all factored as we compile class lists. As you can imagine, this is a complex process and a very important one.

We welcome any helpful information that you would like to provide about your student in order to assist in making the best possible placement. Because of the many factors considered when putting a class roster together, requests for specific teachers will not be accepted. Clearly defining the needs of your child will be most helpful in making a good classroom assignment.

This feedback must be submitted using the survey below no later than Friday, March 27th, as our staff will start developing class groupings once we return from Spring Break.

A note from the School Nurse A note from the School Nurse

Cold and Flu season is upon us once again. Preventative measures remain the most effective way to reduce the spread of influenza and other viral illnesses. Please review healthy hygiene habits with your student, such as hand washing and keeping hands away from their nose/mouth while at school.

Absences from School

Report all absences to the attendance line. Please provide reason for absences and whether or not your child has a communicable or contagious illness.

Keep a child home from school when:

• Your child has had a fever of 100 degrees F or more within the past 24 hours

• Your child has had vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours

• Your child has an unexplained rash, sore or pink eyes with a discharge

• Your child has a persistent, productive cough

** Your child must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school without medication

** If a bacterial infection has been diagnosed, your child must have 24 hours of antibiotics before returning to school

** If your child has not fully recovered or remained home for the recommended length of time, parents may be contacted and asked to take the child home.

Extended Absences: Extended absences of 5 or more days may require that the student present a doctor's statement of re-admittance to the school nurse. For further information on childhood illnesses and diseases please go to Health Information on the D303 website, or contact your school nurse directly at: cor-nurses@d303.org
