MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL KENELY
Dear Dolphin Parents,
It was so wonderful to see so many families at our first annual Back to School Bash! A huge thank you to our Dolphin Dads for grilling and to our amazing PTA for helping make this event such a success. We are grateful for the support of our school community and look forward to many more fun events this year!

Learning Spotlight: First Grade
Mrs. Hastie and the first grade team engaged their students in constructing sentences this week. When designing a lesson, teachers reflect by asking, “How will students become interested in learning?” To spark curiosity and excitement, the team created a fun construction theme, complete with props such as hard hats and construction zone signs. This playful environment promoted student engagement and made sentence building an exciting hands-on experience. Our first graders are not only learning grammar skills but also discovering that writing can be both meaningful and fun!

Have you ever wanted to thank a staff member, teacher, or even the principal or assistant principal? We now have a quick and easy way for you to brighten someone’s day! Recognize Someone is a simple way to send a short note of appreciation. You never know how much your kind words can truly uplift someone.
When I attend my monthly Principal Meetings, I love receiving a stack of these recognitions for my staff and it's such an honor to even sometimes hear my name and message read by my chief. On our campus, recognitions for staff are shared during staff meetings and displayed outside classroom doors. This way, teachers and staff have a daily reminder—especially on tough days—that they are seen, heard, and valued.
Our theme this school year is “Diving into Discovery: One Pod, One Purpose”, join us on this mission by becoming a member of Donald PTA — where everyone belongs!

Back to School Skyward Forms
Nurse Consent Forms Added
LISD families are required to complete back-to-school forms each year in Skyward Family Access. For 2025–26, the packet now includes a new Nurse Consent form required by Senate Bill 12. This form must be submitted by Sept. 1, 2025 for your child to receive care from the school nurse for illness or injury. Even if you have already completed your forms, please log back in to Skyward to review and submit this new consent.
If you already submitted your Back-To-School Forms Directions
Due to a delay in state guidance from state leaders related to SB 12, the form was not included in this year’s Back-to-School forms.
Please log in to Skyward Family Access to complete the consent form at your earliest convenience:
Login to Skyward Family Access
Navigate to “Online Forms” on the left-hand side
Select the “Nurse Consent” form
Complete Step 1 to move to Step 2, and select “Submit Nurse Consent”
Without this form on file, the school nurse will only be able to respond to emergencies and provide basic first aid. This consent does not affect services that already require separate authorization, such as medication administration or special procedures.
If you haven't submitted your Back-To-School Forms Directions
Our records indicate that, as of Aug. 29, 2025, you have not completed the process and/or submitted the back-to-school forms for the 2025-26 school year.
These forms also include a new consent form as a result of Senate Bill 12 (SB12), which indicates starting Sept. 1, 2025, the Parent/Guardian Consent for Students to Seek Care from the School Nurse will be required for your child to receive care from the school nurse for illness or injury. Without this form on file, the school nurse will only be able to respond to emergencies and provide basic first aid. This consent does not affect services that already require separate authorization, such as medication administration or special procedures.
If your child has multiple families and/or guardians in Skyward, only the “Family 1, Guardian 1” contact (listed in the family information section) can access these forms.
WHAT TO DO:
Log in to your Skyward Family Access account and choose 2025-2026 Back to School Forms from the options on the left.
After opening the forms packet, mark each step as complete once you have reviewed and made any necessary changes.
Please make sure you reach the final step and click Submit 2024-25 Back to School Forms to send your completed forms to the district.
Help for common issues with the back-to-school forms can be found HERE.
The registrar at your child’s campus can provide assistance or answer questions.
Why It Matters:
Want to go on Class Field Trips this year? Volunteer on campus?
If you are wanting to attend your child's field trips, help with events, or volunteer on campus you MUST have a VOLY background check complete. It is a very easy process and nice to get out of the way early before it's too late!
Lewisville ISD's VOLY site is open and ready to accept volunteers for the 2025-2026 school year. All volunteers on LISD campuses must have an approved background check on file. LISD uses LewisvilleISD.voly.org to post volunteer opportunities and to process background checks. Please go to the site and either create an account or update your account from a previous year. VOLY also has an app! You can find it in the app store for either Apple or Android products. Be sure to select that you want to work with Lewisville ISD. We look forward to having you on campus as a volunteer soon!
School Lunch Accounts
For the 2025–2026 school year, LISD will increase student and adult meal prices to align with federal guidelines and rising food service costs. This marks the first student lunch price increase since the 22-23 school year. Breakfast and lunch prices will increase by $0.30. These adjustments help ensure compliance with USDA requirements and reflect the district’s efforts to maintain high-quality, sustainable meal services.
All students that qualify as receiving reduced price meals at the previous price of $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch will now get all breakfast and lunch meals for FREE at all LISD campuses for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years. Find out if you are eligible and apply HERE.
Free and Reduced Lunch
You must apply each year for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Complete the application by clicking on the button to see if qualify.
Attendance and Parent Notes UPDATE
For this coming school year, there will be 5 absences allowed with a parent note for any reason. For pre-planned trips or outside school activity absences, parents will have 5 additional absences and will need to complete a pre-planned absence form. We will provide more information with back to school resources on how to access the pre-planned absence form. For additional details, view the May 2025 LISD RAPPort newsletter from Dr. Rapp HERE.
Visitor Check-In
FRONT DOORBELL
Per district policy all visitors to the school must ring the doorbell and present their driver's license/proper identification to the camera before being granted access to the building. Without proper identification, we will not be allowed to enter. Thanks for understanding and prioritizing the safety of our students and staff.
TRA's 2025 Art Contest has begun!
This year's theme, "The Future of Water", invites students to explore how ongoing challenges and emerging opportunities shape the future of water. Communities that depend on the Trinity River face long-term challenges in efforts to protect and manage water resources. Droughts, floods, pollution, and growing demand place constant pressure on our water systems. At the same time, these communities and the Authority are taking action through innovation, conservation, and long-term planning. By reflecting on past progress and current efforts, along with the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, this theme encourages a thoughtful and creative vision for the future of water in Texas.
The contest is open to 1st - 8th grade students who live in or go to school in TRA Board Counties (Anderson, Chambers, Dallas, Ellis, Freestone, Henderson, Houston, Kaufman, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Navarro, Polk, San Jacinto, Tarrant, Trinity, Walker) and 1st - 8th grade students living in or going to school in TRA customer cities outside of those counties (Flower Mound, Argyle, Northlake, Roanoke, Justin, and Venus).
Winners will be chosen from each grade level and will receive prizes and recognition! Entries will close on September 30, 2025.
I have attached the full information packet, or you can view it on our website at https://trinityra.org/art. The packet includes the contest rules, resources to learn more about the theme, and the entry form.
