Attendance
A big well done to all of our pupils who have been in school every day this week!

This week's school attendance is: 96.8%
This year's attendance to date is: 96.2%.
Early Years & KS1 class of the week is 2E with 98.7%.
KS2 class of the week is 6LG with 99.3%.
Donations plea
If anyone has any of the items pictured below which they would be willing to donate to school, we would really appreciate it. The only way we can keep our OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) provision running is with the many kind donations we receive.
The children love to push each other in pushchairs.
'Spinny' chairs with wheels are always a favourite!
Even the older children love the toy cars.
Plastic crates for the construction area are really popular.
Anna Dixon MP visit
On Wednesday Anna Dixon, our local MP, visited school. She had a short tour of the school, met with the new school councillors and then led an assembly for the KS2 pupils. The pupils asked some brilliant questions and got to find out all about life as an MP.
Reception fieldwork
All year groups are undertaking some local fieldwork in preparation for our local Geography week which will then lead to our 'Shipley Showcase' exhibition for parents on 6th November. Below are some pictures of Reception’s walk along Wrose Road looking at the features of our local community.
Harvest Donations - thank you
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Harvest collection so far. A reminder that Monday is the last day for collection before being handed over to Bradford North Foodbank. We really appreciate everybody's generosity.
Safeguarding alert
Important Safeguarding Notice: Children’s “Spy” Books
We want to make you aware of a recent issue affecting some popular children’s books by Andrew Cope, including the Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series.
Some editions of these books include a printed web address at the back. This link used to go to the author’s website, but the domain is no longer under his control. It has since been taken over by another party and now leads to inappropriate adult content.
The publisher, Puffin, has paused sales and distribution of the books and is working with schools, libraries, and retailers to remove copies from circulation. They have stressed that the website has no connection to the author or publisher.
What this means for you:
If your child has any Spy Dog, Spy Cat or Spy Pups books at home, please check the back for website links and make sure they do not try to visit the site.
It is safe for children to continue reading the stories themselves — the concern is only with the outdated link.
We recommend talking with your child about the importance of not following web addresses in books without checking with an adult first.
New to Low Ash - September 2026 intake
A reminder that we are offering tours around the school for parents and carers of prospective new starters over the next few months. If you would like to book onto one of the dates, please contact the school office.
Sporting Update
This week we had children from years 3 to 5, take part in the Blakehill Primary cross country event.
All of them did amazingly and everybody managed to finish their race.
Special mentions to Hannah, who was the 1st year 3 girl to cross the line, Koben finishing 3rd and Darcie finishing 3rd in their races.
A further massive well done to all of our year 6 pupils who took part in the Hanson Olympics day. They did lots of different events including long jump, javelin, speed bounce, along with some running races. They all did brilliantly!
Finally, well done to the Hockey team who took part in a tournament at Hanson yesterday. They all worked extremely hard, scored lots of goals and had lots of fun
Well done to everyone!
