School Calendar 25-26

Last school year we did it! We had the highest percentage for attendance out of all schools in CISD!!! Thank you for your support in getting your child to school daily! This year we are pushing our goal to reach a 97% attendance rate!!!

See below for this year's calendar. Please note the dates of long weekends. When planning travel for your family, we encourage you to plan around days school are in session. Regular attendance is crucial for your child's success in school. Each day of learning builds on the previous one, and missing school means missing out on valuable lessons and activities. Being present daily helps students stay engaged, keeps them on track with their peers, and fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment. Let's work together to ensure your child makes the most of their educational experience by attending school every day. Thank you for your support!

Information for Returning Students

On July 22nd, you should have received an email from PowerSchool Enrollment with instructions for completing your returning students registration online using a secure SnapCode identification number. Parents MUST complete and submit the information required before school starts in August.

Completing the registration forms online will take the place of the paper forms parents received the first day of school in the past. You will have the opportunity to update your parent contact information, home address (you will need to submit a new proof of residency), child's health information, custody changes, student pick-up list and emergency contacts at that time.

IMPORTANT: Electronic Device Updates

We want to make you aware of a new state law, House Bill 1481, recently signed by Governor Abbott. This law applies to all K–12 students in Texas and changes how personal electronic devices—including cell phones and smart watches—can not be used during the school day.

In line with this new law and Conroe ISD policy, students may not use personal electronic devices at any time during the school day. This includes all areas of the campus: classrooms, hallways, the cafeteria, and restrooms. Once students arrive on campus, devices must be turned off and put away until dismissal.

While students at Hines have never been permitted to use cell phones during the day, the biggest change for many families will be that smart watches that can send or receive calls or messages are also not allowed to be used during the day.

If a student does not follow these expectations, school staff may collect the device, and a parent will need to pick it up from the front office.

We know this will be an adjustment for some families, and we’re here to support you through the transition. Please take a moment to talk with your child before the first day of school so they are prepared. Students may still bring a phone to school, but it must remain off and stored in their backpack throughout the day.

Thank you for partnering with us to support a focused and distraction-free learning environment for all students.
