Principal's Message Principal's Message

Middle and High School Families,

As we close the doors on the first semester, I find myself reflecting on what an great experience this has been so far. Joining a new community can always be a bit intimidating, but the warmth, energy, and dedication of this community have made my first semester truly unforgettable.

From the energy brought to so many different events to the many conversations I have had with many students on the many different aspects of their life, it is clear that passions spark in so many places. Whether it was on the athletic field, the stage, or through many different projects, your children have shown a level of resilience and creativity that makes me proud to lead this school.

I want to personally thank you for the support you’ve shown me during my first few months. The partnership between home and school is a critical factor to student success, and I am honored to be part of this team. I am excited to see this continue to grow!

As we continue on to the second half of the year, I would like to call out the beginning as being a prime time to set the tone. I hope that we can encourage students to continue the found successes they have had, reflect on past experiences to make improvements to themselves, and jump into the new experiences a semester shift can bring. I am looking forward to the many events that we have upcoming in the latter half of the year here, and am committed to deepening our community connections through upcoming family events and finding even more ways to celebrate the unique achievements of our students. I am more excited than ever to see what we can accomplish together in the months to come.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Ramcheck

Health Update Health Update

This message was sent out once on an email, but we would like to repeat it for awareness purposes.

We would like to make you aware that a person in our middle/high school has a severe pineapple allergy. Even small amounts of pineapple or pineapple-containing products can cause a serious reaction for this individual.

We kindly ask for your awareness when sending items to school. This includes not only food, but also perfumes, lotions, sprays, or other products that may contain pineapple or pineapple fragrances. If possible, please be mindful of these ingredients and encourage your child to do the same.

Junior Spotlight: Preparing for the ACT Junior Spotlight: Preparing for the ACT

A key milestone for our junior students is the upcoming statewide ACT. We are proud to support them through our dedicated ACT Prep time using the On To College curriculum offered to all juniors.

In Wisconsin, the ACT remains a vital tool. It is a state-mandated assessment that not only measures college and career readiness but also serves as a gateway to significant opportunities. A strong performance can unlock thousands of dollars in merit-based scholarships and is a requirement for the "Wisconsin Guarantee" which offers automatic admission to University of Wisconsin system schools for high-achieving students.

Beyond this, you will find many apprenticeships in our state look at ACT scores in applications since it is a test taken by all Wisconsin students. In other words, the ACT is not simply a college bound test and its use is adapting to more places. Our this prep class is designed to build the confidence and skills they need to succeed, giving students as many opportunities as possible in planning for their future.

Report Cards/Credit Recovery Report Cards/Credit Recovery

Please be aware that report cards are sent home and should be arriving in the mail shortly. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns that you note.

Any student who did not receive a passing grade in a core semester class will be required to attend a mandatory summer school to attempt to address credit deficiencies and ensure they remain on track for graduation. If this applies to your student, please expect to receive a letter in the mail in the coming weeks with additional details.

Senior Attendance Policy and Graduation Requirements Senior Attendance Policy and Graduation Requirements

If you have a senior, please note one section of School Board Policy #5200 - Attendance as we head into spring:

“All seniors are required to have regular attendance in the second semester in order to participate in the commencement ceremony. Any student who misses more than seventy (70) class periods (homeroom counts as one-half (1/2) a period), even if parent permission is granted, s/he will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Note - medical excuse slips, family emergency, and/or college visits are the only exceptions to this rule.”

Reminders will be sent out at 20, 40, and 60 periods of absences to ensure that you are informed on the process. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact administration.
