South Elementary Students and Families,

The beginning of the 2023-24 school year is just around the corner! Our teachers are working hard in their classrooms and beginning home visits. As we begin the new school year, I want to emphasize our commitment to meeting the needs of and ensuring the success of all students.

At South Elementary, we believe in the power of collaboration between parents, teachers, and students. By working hand in hand, we can create a nurturing and enriching environment that fosters growth and academic success.

OPEN HOUSE & SCHOOL PICTURES

Open house will be held on Thursday, August 17 from 1-6 pm. Please drop in at your convenience and enter from the front circle, South Jackson St. entrance, or Kennett St. entrance. Students will be given a passport of people and places to visit throughout the building. Complete all stops on the passport to be eligible for prizes!

School pictures will be taken at open house. Payment may be made at the time of pictures or online at a later date. A make-up picture day will be held in September. Fliers with ordering information will be included in home visit packets.

HOME VISITS

Teachers are in the process of making home visits. If your phone number or address has changed or you have not heard from your child's teacher, please call 573.717.1130.

First Day of School Information

Date: Monday, August 21

Morning: Doors open to students at 7:30 am. First bell rings at 8:05 am, and tardy bell rings at 8:15 am. Breakfast in the classroom begins at 7:50 am.

Afternoon: Dismissal begins at 3:00 pm.

Car rider information: 3rd grade--front circle; 4th grade--Kennett St.; 5th grade--S. Jackson St.

ENROLLMENT

Students new to the district may enroll with the counselor's office beginning Tuesday, August 8 from 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-2:30. Please bring proof of residence along with student's immunization record, birth certificate, and Social Security card.
