Eagles Pep Rally

We had a great time cheering for the Eagles at Friday's Pep Rally. Students sang the Eagles Fight Song, answered trivia, performed touchdown dances and participated in a grade-level cheer contest. Thank you to Mrs. Corsi, Mrs. Lynch, Mrs. Boyle, Ms. Swartz and the PTA for all your help organizing and supporting this event!

As part of the No Place for Hate service learning projects, students created beautiful sandwich bags to bright others' days. Sandwich bags will be distributed at Cathedral Kitchen, an organization that helps people dealing with food insecurity.

February is Black History Month

February marks Black History Month, a tradition that was officially recognized in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebrations. It aims to celebrate the contributions that African Americans have made and to recognize their sacrifices.

Trashless Tuesday

The Woodcrest Green Team is sponsoring Trashless Tuesday on February 18! Students and staff are encouraged to pack a "trash-free" lunch.

Family Resources

Cherry Hill Public Schools is committed to the safety and security of all students. This includes ensuring that students and families have available resources and supports to access education. Considering the recent executive orders, CHPS and the New Jersey Department of Education have collected many resources to support our immigrant families. If you would like me to share these resources with you, please feel free to reach out at amccartney@chclc.org.

Sincerely,

Alison McCartney

District Chain of Communication

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well. As we strive to create an open and transparent line of communication between home and school, I wanted to take a moment to clarify the process for how communication flows within our school community.

  1. Initial Contact: If you have a question or concern about your child’s academic progress, behavior, or any other matter, we encourage you to first reach out directly to your child’s teacher. Teachers are the most familiar with your child’s day-to-day experience and can often address any issues or answer questions quickly.

  2. Further Concerns: If you feel that your concerns have not been addressed satisfactorily by the teacher or if the issue requires further attention, please feel free to reach out to the school principal or assistant principal. We are always here to help and ensure your child’s experience at school is positive.

  3. Specialized Support: For matters related to special education, counseling, or other specialized services, please don’t hesitate to contact our support staff, who will work closely with you to ensure your child’s needs are being met.

By following this communication chain, we aim to address issues efficiently while maintaining an open and collaborative relationship with all our families. Your involvement and support are key to the success of our students, and we thank you for your ongoing partnership. This Chain of Communication is outlined for each grade level on the district website. You can find it under the “Our District” tab on the “Chain of Communication” page. Please keep this site bookmarked for easy reference and access.

Again, we want to make sure that all of your concerns are addressed in a timely and efficient manner. We look forward to our continued partnership in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Superintendent Dr. Kwame R. Morton, Sr.

Safety Road Signs

As you may know, last year Mayor Fleisher and the Cherry Hill Police Department embarked on an initiative to promote pedestrian and traffic safety in our neighborhoods: Slow Down in Our Town. As part of this program, the Township has been focusing on the 3 Es – “Enforcement”, “Education” and “Engineering.” In addition to regular patrols, the PD Traffic Safety has targeted neighborhoods for increased enforcement, as well as distribution of literature alerting drivers to the dangers of speeding. As part of our engineering and traffic calming efforts, our Engineering and Traffic Safety teams have compiled a comprehensive list of streets, focusing initially on areas near schools, where we will be placing pedestrian safety signs in the roadway. The goal is to provide a visual reminder to obey the speed limit and provide increased awareness for children walking to and from school.

The following streets have been selected in your area:

  • Astor Drive at Nature Drive
  • Morris Drive at Astor Drive
  • Morris Drive between South Cranford & Cranford Rds

Be on the lookout for these improvements. Please reach out to the Mayor’s office at 856-488-7878 with any questions or concerns.
