KMS PTSA MESSAGE AND LIST OF WINNERS KMS PTSA MESSAGE AND LIST OF WINNERS

Dear KMS Families,

We hope this message finds you in great spirits as we wrap up our Cookie Dough Fundraiser. First and foremost, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our students who put in incredible effort and dedication, as well as to their parents and guardians, AND teachers who made this fundraiser possible!

In total, the students sold over $33,000 or an incredible 1511 tubs of cookie dough! After accounting for overhead costs (cost of the cookie dough as well as expenses of the fundraiser), the KMS PTSA has raised over $16,000. This is a remarkable 500 tubs and $6,000 more than last year!

Congratulations to Our Top Achievers!

We are thrilled to extend our congratulations to the top 14 students, the three lucky winners of our Gift Card Raffle, and big cheers to the top three Advisory classes with the highest combined sales totals. They have earned a well-deserved pizza or ice cream party.

Pick-Up Instructions and Distribution

The frozen cookie dough is expected to arrive in Kodiak during the week of November 27. We will promptly send a detailed letter with essential information for pick-up. Please note the following instructions:

• Student sellers are responsible for picking up and delivering all their cookie dough orders.

• Students can carry up to 5 tubs of cookie dough on the bus.

• Students who sold 6 or more tubs must arrange for their parent/guardian to be the primary person accompanying them to collect their cookie dough.

In the meantime, we kindly request your assistance in collecting plastic grocery bags for us to use to distribute the tubs of cookie dough. Turn in your grocery bags to Advisory.

Once again, we want to thank everyone for your incredible support. Keep an eye out for our reminder, which will include the confirmed pick-up date and all the necessary details. We wish you a great holiday season.

Thank you for being part of our wonderful KMS community!

Warm Regards,

Roxann White, PTSA President

Ericka Thompson, PTSA President

Holly Hunter, PTSA Treasurer

Kim Wynn, PTSA Secretary

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Please join us on Wednesday, October 25 and Thursday, October 26th from 4:30pm - 7:30pm in the classrooms of KMS for an open-forum style Parent/Teacher Conference. No appointment is needed; just stop by your student's classrooms for a brief dialogue between you and your child's teachers.

Chatting with each teacher will provide an overall picture about their individual school experience based on classroom observations. These meetings are the perfect time to gain information about your student's curriculum, see their academic growth, gain insight into their social and emotional development, and even learn some practical measures you can take to supplement their learning at home.

Also, we will be holding the Scholastic Book Fair in the KMS Library during both evenings, and we'll have KMS Spirit Wear available for purchase!

We hope to see you there!

KMS 2023 SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR KMS 2023 SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

zoom_out_map

Get ready bookworms, it's that time of year again!

Our KMS Scholastic Book Fair is happening during Parent-Teacher Conferences from Oct. 25-27 (Wednesday to Friday). You can drop in during school hours or conferences, If you can't wait, check out the book selection at https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/kodiakmiddleschool for a sneak peek.

All prices include Kodiak's 7% Sales Tax and we accept credit cards, e-wallets, checks, and cash (to the nearest quarter for easy math). If you can't make it in person, online shopping is available from Oct 23 – Nov 4. And, if you're a teacher, create a wishlist of books or other items available from Scholastic for your classroom. There might be parents or families willing to donate and support your class.

We're on a mission to beat last year's record of 500+ books sold and hit 600 or more this year. Plus, every book you buy earns Scholastic dollars, which will help us acquire new books for our budding readers. Last year, we shared the love by giving each student a $5 voucher to spend at the fair.

Please note, the library will be closed for book check-outs during the fair and will resume regular hours on October 30th. Thanks for your support and see you at the Book Fair!

Yours truly,

Daisy C. Briones

Library Media Specialist

During the course of the school day, teachers and staff like to recognize students who are caught exhibiting the KMS values of Respect, Integrity, Citizenship, and Kindness. We do this by giving out Grizzly Tickets. Every Grizzly Ticket goes into a bucket and from that bucket, we draw two winners per grade. The winners get to sit on the stage with up to 7 of their friends for the rest of the week!
